Valet Waste is a wasteful service itself, and it frequently disappoints. Service is scheduled for Sun-Thur with pickup at 8 pm. Pickup regularly happens after midnight (about 1 in 4 nights), which means that I spend over 4 hours a night without a trash can inside my apartment (for pickup, a Valet Waste trash can must be placed outside the apartment).
Understandably, Valet Waste can't service an entire apartment complex instantly at 8 pm. Over 4 hours though? My apartment complex isn't very large, so I can't see a reason why it takes so long.
Also, my building had been skipped for service (hopefully not intentionally) on Sundays for the last few weeks. This means that I have to carry garbage from Friday morning until Monday night.
To top it all off, this service is mandatory for all residents within my apartment complex at a fee of $35 per month. There are dumpsters about 200 ft away from my front door, and Valet Waste always deposits the trash there. So, I'm paying $35 per month for someone to carry my trash 200 ft, a service which frequently happens very late or not at all. I've heard of scams in my day, but this beats all of them.
