Sonder at East Eleventh

Please pay attention to the disclaimers on "city noise" and realize if the noise is too much for you Sonder will do nothing to help you but instead direct you to their legal disclaimers. I live in NYC, so I expected some noise coming to East Austin and assumed it would be manageable. Boy, was I wrong! The noise in the first floor unit I got stuck in, which is next to the I-35 interstate entry, is unlike anything I've ever heard of in a vacation rental (likely due to the lack of solid building materials + low floor unit rather than the location itself). Sonder will offer you a noise machine to cope; in my instance, that noise machine never arrived. As a result I can't comment on how much the noise machine they apparently offer helps in drowning out the noises of non-stop traffic and honking horns well past midnight. The result: I found it impossible to work here or sleep here and had to checkout after my first night of literally 0 sleep. Unfortunately Sonder didn't seem to care are are happy to charge me over $1100 for what ended up being a one night stay. I've stayed at numerous Sonder units across the world with great experiences before this; my first Sonder stay was back in 2020. This location, and the response by Austin's management team, really pushed the needle in the wrong direction for me and I won't ever be using Sonder again. I would advise there are probably great units in this building that depending on where they are and what floor they are on might OK. Throw the dice but I hope you don't end up where I did (unless loud, constant noise is not an issue for you through all hours of the day and night).
