First, Rene is the best. They always made sure to make me feel welcomed and helped me out wherever she could. I hope they are getting paid very well given how good of an employee she is.
Second, during my stay of 1.5 leases, I never found myself having to make maintenance calls. I'm a bit of a handyman, so I've repaired any small imperfections such as door hinges, faulty fridge, badly managed ethernet ports/connections, leaky faucets, and more. When I first moved in, I found out that there was a nest of roaches under the fridge. I tend to keep clean, but I'm not afraid of roaches, I'm just sadly mildly allergic. But after covering up and exterminating them and following typical practices, they died off, and I haven't seen them since. Another problem is their inability to repair the entrance and exit gates. I mentioned this to the manager before renewing my lease, but I got a fairly standard and expected answer of "We are working on it." It's been over a year, and it still doesn't work. I'm sure It breaks down because of the tree next to it and it drops acorns on the rail and I'm sure that the amount of things I see get stuck in it (acorns, branches, rocks, and more) cause to it malfunction. But this leads to practically no security, and it concerns me. Thankfully, I haven't had anything stolen.
Third, it's a fairly cheap option of an apartment for the size in AUSTIN, so I somewhat expect it to be cheap quality. I currently don't have "upgraded" cabinets and appliances, and the paint they use to paint over everything and any imperfection is the worst. Right after moving in, I placed protective mats on all shelves so I can ensure none of my things potentially damage the paint, but after months, I went to clean under the mats, and the mats stuck to the paint and anything I lay on the white paint sticks to it after a solid 24 hours. So I am sure you can kiss your security deposit a goodbye. Also, the leaf-blowing crew loves to blow leafs on purpose onto my patio for some reason. I have it on video, I think they simply just don't try and leave me to sweep up 20lbs worth of dust and leafs. The trash service is the worst, and they kick your bin down if you leave it out for too long (heard them do it)
Last but not least, I find myself "okay" my stay for the most part. I get along with my neighbors, and we all tend to keep to ourselves. After reading all the other reviews, maybe I got lucky.
Ps: The gym could use an upgrade, tho
