    I've lived at The Drake for over ten years, so I'm intimately familiar with the ups and downs of the property. When things are going well here, it's quite a nice place to live. But when you have a problem, it can quickly become a nightmare, due to wholly inadequate responsiveness by multiple generations of management. The building currently has a very serious rodent infestation, such that you can actually hear plaster falling as they scurry around behind the walls and ABOVE THE CEILING (see attached video). According the the regular exterminator, the primary point of ingress is the trash and recycling room, where it's not unusual to see mice darting from bin to bin or hear them scavenging inside the trash. I keep my apartment quite tidy, all the more so since this issue grew prominent several months ago. Yet I've still caught no less than a dozen mice in traps spread throughout my unit. I've killed a mouse myself, logy and slow due to poison. I've even found a dead mouse in the middle of one of my rugs, having likely expired there again due to poison (see attached image). Unfortunately management doesn't see fit to address this enormous detriment to quality of life beyond weekly exterminator visits. They won't even reply to emails seeking a meeting, and censor attempts to gauge the extent of the issue by refusing to approve posts on the online portal.

    The leasing team at The Drake was incredibly helpful when my wife and I were looking at apartments in Center City. Jasmine, the manager, was compassionate and supportive when unexpected challenges arose from our end; Colleen graciously showed us multiple different units and patiently answered our many questions; and Tyler was friendly and accommodating every time we spoke with him by phone. We were treated with the utmost respect and care by the team at The Drake, and highly recommend them and the building to any prospective renters.

    I moved into the Drake in late October. An older building like the Drake has unique attributes and character that make it truly special. The location could not be better, the apartments are large and livable, the building staff are friendly and welcoming. I appreciate that the desk is always staffed. It helps with packages... and provides a level of security. Older buildings can have maintenance issues... but so far.... the few minor issues have been resolved quickly. The leasing agent who showed me the building, Tyler Simmons, was so helpful. He saw me through several visits and my move-in. I'm giving The Drake 4 stars... because it's not perfect... but close.
