    This is my 2nd experience with Normans. The first one was fine and this time it is awful. We ordered a crib and a dresser the day my daughter was born and she is just over 4 months old and still does not have it. After getting the run around from them, I called the manufacturer to find out what the problem was. The told me (and Normans confirmed it) that Normans had not paid their bill to the manufacturer therefore they would not ship to them. This info would have been useful before he took my $$. Here we are just shy of 18 weeks and it should be delivered soon however they told me that one part still was not delivered!! NEVER DEAL WITH THEM. When I asked for them to knock off the $80 delivery charge for all the trouble, they said "Why, it's not late." 18 WEEKS!!! Shop somewhere else

    My family and I ordered an extremely expensive furniture set for my baby on March 1, 2013 (at 16 weeks pregnant). We were initially told it would take 8 weeks for delivery, which is why we went so early to place the order. 8 weeks came and went, and then 10. My husband called numerous times to find out where our order was. We got a complete run-around EVERY single time. First, the company had moved and they lost track, then they were unable to track the shipment, and then the shipment never came in. Finally, 14 weeks after the order was placed, everything came in except my crib. I am currently 5 weeks away from giving birth and I still do not have a crib. I was told on Monday (6/3/13) that the crib had been shipped and would DEFINITELY be in by the end of the week. Well, today is Friday 6/7/13, and sure enough, the crib never arrived. Once again, the company moved and they cannot track it, or the computer's got messed up. I am told it will be in by Monday, but to no surprise, I will NOT hold my breath. I am tired of being lied to. On top of everything, Norman's has done NOTHING to compensate my family for the inconvenience. No refunded delivery charge, nothing. Hardly even an apology. They operate with the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I will NEVER, EVER purchase another thing from Norman's, and I most certainly will tell everyone I know to steer clear of the hassle of this place!!!!!

    I bought my daughter's nursery set from Normans in February 2010 and was initially very satisfied with the store, but I had a problem with the paint on the crib 4 months later and Norman's told me that they could not contact the manufacture for me and there was nothing they could do but send me touch up paint. The finish on the crib rail was obviously defective because paint chips rubbed on my daughter's hands, cheeks, mouth, nose, hair, etc. when she was standing and holding onto the crib rail. I understand that painted surfaces can chip, but this issue must be a defective paint finish with the manufacture because we own other wooden toys that my child has touched and played with more than her crib rail. Norman's told me that they had no sales rep that they could contact about my issue and that I would be better off contacting the manufacturer myself. I expected that they would have buying power over a single consumer, but apparently not. I have since contacted the manufacturer and am awaiting a resolution. However, I received no support from Norman's who also told me that after I purchased the nursery set it was in my own hands if I had a problem with it. This is terrible customer service and although I do believe in supporting local stores, I would direct any consumer elsewhere moving forward.
