Cecile was a wonderful guide to my wife and I during our first home-buying process. She helped us identify and prioritize the features we were looking for, located many fantastic options that met our criteria, and gave fantastic advice as we toured them. Cecile provided excellent support and knowledge as we navigated the offer, lending, and closing process for the first time and then helped us identifying superb contractors to perform the minor repairs our home needed after we purchased. We would wholeheartedly endorse Cecile to anyone looking to purchase a home in Philadelphia!

We engaged with Cecile and her husband when we sold our home in NJ and found ourselves in a time crunch to secure rental accommodation in Philadelphia. The couple was amicable to converse with, having just closed on the townhome the day before. They promptly requested rent upon our initial meeting to secure the townhome, prompting my husband and me to eagerly move in. And they contacted the apartment management from our previous rental and received positive feedback .However, upon moving in, we encountered numerous stressful challenges. The neighborhood, predominantly Caucasian, presented an unfortunate situation where we had to contend with a racially prejudiced neighbor next door, who incessantly lodged complaints against us on a daily basis. She persistently took photographs of my very young children and reported them to the authorities, resulting in unwarranted trouble for us. Additionally, due to the townhome's proximity to eateries such as Chubby's, Delassandro's, Fiesta Pizza, and various seafood establishments, we constantly battled infestations of rats and mice within our living quarters. Dealing with their excrement and urine became a daily struggle, as it seemed to pervade every nook and cranny of the home, from kitchen drawers to bedroom closets and beyond. The incessant squeaking and rattling throughout the premises only exacerbated our discomfort. However, we try our best to keep the areas clean due to safety our children. Despite our diligent adherence to timely rent payments each month, my husband and I ultimately made the decision to vacate the property and pursue homeownership elsewhere due to the multitude of challenges we faced. Upon our departure, Cecile expressed considerable displeasure regarding the condition of the property. Notably, the stove was in disrepair, and a wooden stair leading down to the basement had become detached, posing a significant safety hazard exacerbated by the home's aging infrastructure. Regrettably, our three-year-old son sustained an injury while descending the stairs during our tenancy. At that time, I was suffering from extreme morning sickness, which prevented me from cleaning the townhome to the best of my ability. Additionally, we had to contend with a contractor named Dwayne Sanders Construction, who absconded with $15,000 of our money. Consequently, my husband and I were under pressure to find a replacement contractor swiftly and have the home ready for our small children in time. Cecile retained our entire security deposit and last month's rent, totaling over $3,000. This included charging us for an old stove and a pre-existing broken fridge that she had located in the basement. I was infuriated by this decision. I lived in many apartments over the years from Pleasantville Apartment to Largos Way and NEVER EVER lost any deposits! Furthermore, we were charged for items that was unwarranted. and was wrongfully accused of damages unbeknownst to us. The constant rat infestation in the home posed serious health risks to my children, who frequently fell ill. Imagine the distress of discovering dead rats in the bathroom and rats running out of closets, all while coping with a racist neighbor. It was nightmare moving out!

Recently I had the pleasure of working with Cecile Steinriede Elfant Wissahickon Realtors; in selling a house in the Philadelphia area. I have sold multiple houses over the years and none of them had gone as smoothly as this one. Cecile came recommended by a neighbor with the reference that she is always available which I felt was a necessary quality when trying to sell a house. Not only was Cecile accessible she was also very approachable and patient. From the initial meeting, she was professional and seemed knowledgeable on the current market trends. She provided her suggestions/processes on how best to market, show and sell the house. Her guidance proved true! We had multiple offers within the 1st open house showing. Each step in the process from negotiations to the final paperwork at settlement she managed excellently. She made me feel like I was a priority and selling this house was her top priority. I highly recommend Cecile Steinriede to anyone looking for a top-notch real estate agent!

Dear Nakida, You moved out of our property in 2017, and it is a surprise to read your review in 2024.My husband and I have been landlords for over 20 years. We have never had a negative review, nor have we ever had tenants leave a property in the condition that you left our house. All our properties are under contract with exterminators, and we have contractors in our properties as soon as our tenants call us for any issue. Upon your moving out, we sent you 150 pictures documenting the extensive damage that included broken appliances and windows, holes in walls, broken radiator covers as well as the whole house covered in crayon scrawl and dirt. The funds we kept to fix the property did not begin to cover the extent of the damage you left throughout the house. One cannot control their neighbors, and we did everything we could to make your experience in our property as positive as possible.I hope that all your future endeavors are positive.
