Rooted By Design

Johanna did a fantastic job tying together three adjacent rooms into a cohesive, warm, interesting, and inviting space. We gave her the challenge of working with things that we really liked and wanted to keep, while otherwise adding pieces / elements that would pull it all together. She offered us multiple options and ended up hitting it out of the park, making sure the final result fit with our general aesthetic, yet definitely choosing things that we never would have purchased or thought of ourselves. She also happens to be super nice. Highly recommended!

Johanna was fantastic to work with during our at home consultation. She inspired us to rethink and envision new ideas for multiple spaces. We love that she likes soft and subtle touches but pops of color when needed. She gave us different resources to explore more items on our own time without any pressure to buy from certain companies. Johanna has been so creative and amazing to work with in several rooms in our home. We reached out to her almost a year ago because we were having trouble making our house feel like our home, and felt like we kept making the wrong decisions when it came to planning out the space and choosing furniture. Over the course of the last year, Johanna has created amazing designs for two of my kids rooms, a master bedroom, some first floor living spaces and has started work on an upcoming kitchen project. We tackled a lot of projects almost simultaneously, and Johanna always had an interesting take or creative idea that we hadn't thought of, and we love how she works sustainable design into her plans. We live slightly outside the Philadelphia area, but remote connections + in-person visits have made the projects come together and Johanna's follow through has been amazing. Johanna was a pleasure to work with during our bedroom remodel. The whole process was so stress-free, easy, and fun. She really captured what I was looking for. We loved the concepts she created and she was flexible with any changes we wanted. We loved the result so much that we're thinking about hiring her for the rest of our rooms too. We had a wonderful experience working with Johanna. She was incredibly thoughtful, a great listener and communicator, responsive and pleasure to work with. Not to mention impeccable taste! She found the perfect balance of listening to our preferences and helping us try new design ideas that we'd never have thought of on our own. It was a big priority for us to find an eco-friendly interior design expert to help with our new home, and Johanna brought all of that expertise plus a great eye, calm and present focus, and creativity.
