FIND THE NATIVE INDIAN STATUE? (more later)...It's all been said, but here's some more: u can walk off leash on trails connecting to drive: but it's still unlawful. But for a good bird dog, they r in heaven. Too much too see, you just gotta explore it. From the stables furthest west, to valley green inn, to the covered bridge, to the paths north & south to hike, there's lots to discover. All the way to the end, err rather the beginning of Kelly drive (nice bridge - water flow), where u can take that all the way to boathouse row & to the Art Museum--- Italian stallion style--- bit that's a long way. Bikers do it. Shoot ..thru race it once a year....doing the manayunk world famous "WALL" climb... NO ONE HAS MENTIONED THE BEST FIND THERE YET: I CHALLENGE YOU HIKERS & MYSTERY HUNTERS...you must find the 8' tall statue of a native Indian; he is perched up on one of the hills where he can look down upon "the Drive". He is hard to spot bc he is surrounded by trees & is elevated. I've searched him out many times, but I still get a bit lost....I think he may animate & move around by magic...to keep u on your toes. Parking: There are multiple 'lots' to park up & down the hills that track to the Forbidden Drive, but if your destination is unknown: you'll get another 1/2 mile walk the parking by the treehouse, & the stables furthest west are numerous. 1/2 mile east u park in lots of bells mill...then u can park at valley green; with the ducks & geese...it's like that.. Fees: Last I checked it's ALL FREE! There's a fine restaurant dead center that also runs a snack bar: Valley Green...@ the center. If u fish, you'll have to pay up for that. If you want a place for your unicorn, yeah that's money. There's a kewl breakfast sandwich pizza joint by the stables with outdoor seating aka, mayB fka, Bruno's Restrooms: Yeah, I'm not going to talk about that. Let's just say: you are dead smack in a city of 2 million. Dog-friendliness: Dogs love it here. On forbidden drive u must leash them up...horseys, an occasional wagon, many bikers, runners, hikers, other puppies, & kids (who, if raised proper, will ask, "can I pet your puppy?")
