image In my case they will only help you if its convenient for them. I am a convicted felon looking to expand my knowledge in a trade to better my life and to someday be financially stable. Forewarning, They will do a background check on you without your permission (which is against the law I might add). They will only choose to help you based on your crime. They will do nothing but waste your time and cherry pick on selecting people for the program. They should advertise on their website or at least be transparent on the exclusions. Some unprofessional women legitimately told me through email not come inside the building anymore and that I wasnt eligible for the program. Im so disappointing because these places are supposed to give people a second chance at life. The program is a joke

image I had to update my original review. It is still negative however my issues with the program and what happens with funding being distributed for adults who are attempting to re-enter the workforce after graduating from OIC. I am upset that this program misused funds that after I joined DID NOT BENEFIT ME! I was supposed to receive childcare they collect information about your personal hardships if any for unknown purposes when they dont distribute what they said they'd give if you qualify: such as assistance with childcare and/or transportation. I have certificates that I have not received yet worked hard to attain so where did that funding go if I never received my certification it was paid for yet I never received it. I have tried several times to contact the superior of Daleena Smith her name is A. Mack and have been ignored even attempting to contact someone else who could look into the mistreatment I received as someone struggling through a hardship and was consistently communicating and attending class working with my peers and enjoying the experience that was ripped away because I needed to remove myself and child from one environment to another safely. It was cold and disturbing to receive an email without my hardships being considered. I was 10 days away from completing the program and was informed I'd received $600 which i dpended on after 9 weeks of commitment from 8am until 4pm then having to pay for child care and still needing to provide so you still need to work and commit I did both! Through Hardship not giving up and they because of an absence 10 days before I was due to graduate made such a decision without any consideration of my situation and instead put me in another 10 days before graduation and the certifications earned just* poof*. Well its funded through donations ,government assistance and they have stolen from myself and I'm sure others. I was a number that they benefitted from. I will keep advocating until OIC are held accountable.
