Lori Bennett was our buyers agent when we purchased our house in Portland recently, and we are very glad she was recommended to us. We first met her at her office, where she expertly asked us what kind of property we were looking for. She explained the process we were about to go through, suggested that she send us on-line houses to look through. We chose a few promising looking properties and arranged to tour them with Lori (and her daughter, Katie, also a realtor). Lori (and Katie) were clearly looking out for us, not looking for a quick sale. They pointed out various problems with the properties that were not at all obvious when looking on-line. We went back home, a little dispirited, and kept searching through on-line listings. About two weeks later Lori e-mailed us to let us know that a property was about to come to market that sounded like a good fit for us. We came up to tour it. Lori was right, it was what we were looking for. We crafted an offer with Loris help and after a bit of haggling, our amended offer was accepted. Then came the inspections, which is where Lori really went to bat for us. Lori possesses a great depth of knowledge about the professional inspectors and tradespeople. She arranged hiqh quality inspections (sewer scope, buried storage tank, radon, general building shape) within a week, and then called in tradespeople to give quotes addressing the buildings deficiencies. We looked over the quotes and adjusted our offer accordingly, which was accepted by the seller. Working with Lori and Katie was a pleasure. Because of their caring and expertise, we were able to buy a house that we really like and we are confident we know the work the house will need in the next few years. We highly recommend Lori and Katie. Theyre great.
