Hi Kim. Thx for the feedback. Not sure why when people have an issue they don't just come to the owner and say something or ask "is this supposed to be like this". We are a brand new business only open for a few weeks. There can be road bumps sometimes. You missed out on getting your money back or a free ice cream of another flavor. And you also missed out on an explanation of why the blueberry ice cream is the way it is. I'll explain below.......The reason the blueberry ice cream tastes "icy" is because we do not macerate the blueberries. Macerating is when you remove all the water (juice) from the berry before making the ice cream. We have made it both ways and people prefer the frozen blueberries in the sweet cream ice cream. So the ice cream itself was not icy. It never is. It was the blueberries and compote that was "icy". We made two batches and let over 10 people try the ice cream one day and all but 1 person prefered the contrast of the frozen blueberries in the sweet cream ice cream. The blueberry crumble is actually what we sell the most of. Now, is it possible you might have gotten a scoop with a good amount of the compote that can become a bit icy if you get a good chunk of it? Yes, possible. If you don't come to me and say something it wont get fixed. I would have gave you another scoop or two. I know I am covered in tattoos but I dont think Im so intimidating that you can't approach me and say something. As for the blueberry taste, the flavor strength depends on if the blueberries are in season or not. We prefer to use wild blueberries when in season. But when using farmed blueberries out of season the flavor profile will be different. Next time you eat somewhere and have an issue, always go to the chef or owner and say something. Posting on here out of context makes things appear different than they actually are. Luckily we are able to reply to these reviews. Thx for coming by. No hard feelings.
