As a first time home-buyer wanting a fixer upper, I cannot imagine a better agent than Jennye. She helped us win in a competitive offer situation while navigating through all of the unanticipated challenges that came with buying a house for the first time. She fought for us on getting the seller to take care of an oil tank and helped coordinate with a contractor to get work done for conventional loan to pass. This was my third home buying experience and by far my best collaboration with a realtor. I relocated from Charleston, SC to Portland, OR and during my preview trip to the city, it became clear I was not going to find a place right away. In fact, it took me 5 months to find the right house AND get an offer accepted. You would think that over this period of time a realtor would get frustrated and put me on the back burner, Jennye never did. Not a week went by when she didn't get me in to see properties until I found the place that was perfect for me. In the process, I made an offer on a house that I had to walk away from as a result of the inspection. Jennye helped me gather all the needed facts, find a structural engineer to give a professional opinion and then fully supported me in rescinding the offer. Jennye has a deep knowledge of Portland and the surrounding areas. She was able to tell me about the different neighborhoods, talk with me about what was important to me in a home environment, and identify different places where I would be happy living in Portland. As part of the purchase process on the house I'm now living in, I got the normal home inspection, and an inspection on the boiler/radiator system, and a sewer scope. Two months after closing on the house, I found out that my sewer was nonconforming (if you don't know what this means, hopefully, you will never have to). This is one of the key reasons you have your sewer scoped in Portland. If discovered prior to the sale, the city of Portland would have required the previous owner to fix it before the house could be sold. When I got in touch with Jennye, she could've just made it my problem, after all the paperwork was final. Instead, she stayed beside me, helped me in the process of working with the scope company, which unfortunately finally included a lawsuit, until the matter was fully resolved and the house had a new sewer system. This level of follow-through and support is one of Jennye's exceptional qualities. I cannot speak highly enough of Jennye as both a person and a realtor. If you are moving to the Portland area, you will not find a better partner for finding your new home.
