Loud patio seating due to 3 large groups for us 2 people. However, the food was to die for including the dessert. I didn't take pics die to the late reservation and feeling starved. We shared clams, Brussel sprouts, bacon wrapped dates, ham croquettes and cod fritters. The dessert was a delightful and airy flan and a cinnamon empanada warmed with a dollop of cream. All enjoyed with their Sangria! Yum yum yum

BLUF: this is my idea of dinner Nirvana. Hoping to get a taste of Portland, I wandered into a hole in the corner called Bar Casa Vale. Atmosphere: warm, casual. I can see two fires from my seat at the bar, candles, and an understated industrial esthetic. Food: nuanced spices, lingering combinations of salty and smokey, singularly complimenting the Spanish beer and the brandy. Kristen was friendly, bringing me out of my shell, and knew a seriously impressive amount about food in general, as well as the kitchen and menu! She shared her knowledge and connection to the food! That alone says something Big in my book!!

Best tapas bar we've visited in Portland. The food tasted good and authentic. I'd recommend and be back
