Extraordinarily long wait times and poor communication

They really need better staff or organizing skills

I have been seeing a Doctor here for about 3 years. The first year was good. The past 2 have been awful. The staff in this office does not respond to messages on mychart. I sent a message and then followed up to the first message with 4 more and received NO RESPONSE. Each time i need something, I need to do all the leg work to make sure it is done correctly and in a timely manner. Prior Authorizations, you need to keep on the every other day. They will give you misinformation and you will again need to follow up. I have learned with PA's from this office you MUST follow up with your insurance company to verify they actual have the PA in their possession. I have had to speak with management twice after spending a month each time doing all the leg work to make sure my PA's were sent through and approved. This office (not management) constantly points the finger at the insurance company saying they are holding up the PA's. However each time I call the insurance company they tell me they do not have them. Come to find out each time they are correct, because the office either never sent them, or the insurance company asked them for more information, and the office never got back to them. Although I like my doctor, I need to search elsewhere for someone new. I hopefully find an office who is willing to help out the patient instead of pointing fingers and not following through with what the need to be doing.

Very unhappy with this facility. Took my father, who has dementia, to see his doctor today. Both my mother and I had picked him up at his memory care facility. It is very difficult to take my father to appointments due to his late stage Alzheimer's condition. He has great difficulty following directions or transferring from his wheelchair to the car seat, etc. Upon arrival at Providence Neurological Specialties West at 2:10 for our 2:30 appointment, we were told his appointment was at 2 pm, not 2:30, and since we were 10 minutes late we would have to reschedule. I explained how very difficult and time consuming it was to get my father there, and we didn't want it rescheduled for a later date. We were told that rules were rules and we left without being seen by a doctor. They said the soonest he could be seen would be the end of November. Once home, my mother located the confirmation slip in which the appointment stated 2:30 pm, and she called the clinic back to tell them that they were indeed in error. They said they would try to get him an appointment asap. Very frustrating.

This place offers adequate service. Talking to someone is incredibly difficult. It's a minimum wait of 20 minutes. My wife and I both were trying to get a detailed physician receipt. She called every weekday for one week waiting up to 45 minutes on hold. Once someone answered she was always told someone would call her back. I am writing this on the seventh consecutive business day with no call back from anyone. She called today and asked for the name of the individual that could handle this request and was told, " I didn't give you her name." Maybe it's just healthcare in general but this is really bad. It's clear that outside of normal business they really don't want to do anything for you. They go to great effort to make a simple request so challenging you want to give up. Patient care is not just how well you take care of someone while they are physically there. If you have an option to go elsewhere I/we highly recommend it. You will no doubt have a better experience as this won't be difficult, at all, to beat.
