Dr. Crihfield was dismissive and disrespectful. I am a covid long hauler and I got covid from work in December. At my first appointment, she refused to speak with my previous attending physician (who is an N.D. and so could only manage my case for 60 days), dismissed what my previous attending physician had suggested as next steps, and essentially told me she thought I would be better in a few weeks based on the average length of long haul symptoms. She did not take into account that I had not improved at all since December or that the previous attending physician had wanted to refer me to specialists and suspected neurological damage. At my second visit, she did agree to refer me to the OHSU long hauler clinic and to get a tilt table test. However, when I asked her about needing assistance cooking food and cleaning my apartment, she said I didn't need it. I am not able to stand or even sit up for more than a few minutes at a time. my religion community has been bringing me meals every day since I go sick. I asked her how she recommended I clean my apartment or prepare food and she told me that she wasn't going to tell me how to eat and slammed the door. Her treatment was outrageous. I do not recommend her to anyone. There are other workers comp doctors. I truly hope that anyone considering see her finds a different doctor who is competent and respectful. Ideally I think she should lose her job. Patients, especially in workers comp cases, are reliant of their doctors advocating for them. Dr. Crihfield does the opposite.
I would like to add that I spoke to the supervisor about my concerns. She was supportive and understanding and seemed to agree that Dr. Crihfield's behavior was inappropriate. I hope that she takes action to prevent Dr. Crihfield from treating any other patients this way.
