Mike is very rude and unprofessional. He does not keep time. He will lie to you that "I will submit tomorrow" and take months before he submits your plan to the county. He responds to your calls after weeks and gives you excuses as to why he has not. Save your money and peace.... Keep off from Mike! Hire him at you own risk.

I absolutely agree with the other reviewers on here. This guy is not professional in his communication and fails to deliver on his promises. Based on how poor of a job he did for us and based on his unprofessional and rude communications, I question his credentials. Certainly not doing business with home again and I highly advise you to stay away from Mike if you don't want to waste your time and engage in unnecessarily bickering like back and forth with a grumpy old man.

Mike is the worst designer I have ever seen. He came to my home and agreed to submit the plan to the city. But it took him three weeks to submit the request to the city. There was some mistake on the plan he drew and the city requested me to review the plan. I passed the message and requested him to review and submit the plan again. By the time I requested him he disappeared, never answer my calls and return my text. However, he called me after three months and asked my permission to charge me for the remaining balance. I would never recommend this guy.

If you want your permits to take way longer than they should... use this guy! It took him 3 months to respond to the county to answer the questions they had and then he just answered 1 of the 3 questions that needed a response.... So someone else had to take over and get the job done that he started.

First red flag was Mike Montgomery was suspiciously too available. Most house designers/engineers are scheduled out weeks if not months. Second red flag he tells us he works with a structural engineer and said he could do our bid for $2500. We thought great that works for us. When we get our contract from him he puts this in his contract "EXPENSES NOT COVERED BY THIS CONTRACT: 1. Civil and Structural Engineering Services as required for this project." 3rd red flag is when we talked to him about it he jumped the price to $4200. 4th red flag when we talked to him about it again with the contractor he hung up. Personal opinion is they use the cheap initial cost as a ploy to double charge with structural engineer. Buyer beware please if you value your money do not use and read contracts carefully.
