In our test process we were damaging the high value products we manufacture as well as an expensive piece of test equipment. We asked Pete to take a look at the process and design us tooling that would remedy our problem. In less than 2 weeks, Pete was able to design and fabricate tooling which has completely removed the chance that we will experience failures in the future. Peter is a top notch mechanical engineer. I have been fortunate enough to work with him on several biomedical engineering projects including a mechanical insertion device for use with a glucose sensing catheter and an in-home neuropathy test system. I have worked with Peter on numerous projects and he is probably my favorite mechanical engineer to work with because of his attention to detail and his organizational prowess. I prototype many of his designs and I'm always impressed how he is able to re-think objects in clever ways to exploit new manufacturing processes, like 3d printing. If you need an engineer who can go beyond simply drawing what you describe and make a serious contribution to a product, look no further.

After months of struggling on a project, Peter came in and helped develop a new data acquisition system for our in-house testing equipment. There are often many ways to approach a problem. Peter took the time to understand our concerns and ideas and tailored a solution the fit our needs, budget and timeline. Peter has solved several difficult mechanical engineering problems for my company, Pacific Diabetes Technologies. Body worn electronics unit: After meeting with PDTs staff engineers and scientists, Peter and his assistant quickly designed the unit, and created prototypes using 3D printing. The design is great and the device functions just as designed! Hand held launching device for 2-in-1 device: Peter, who is a power user of Solid Works showed great skill and designed a very slick launcher that is quite reliable and very easy to use. For a person with diabetes, it is very intuitive and would take only a few minutes to learn how to use. Device for application of adhesive: We need a very specialized device to deposit adhesive on a very tiny part. Peter is very accustomed to dealing with tiny parts and in fact, I know he has spent years of his career dealing with such small scales. Peter applied his usual expertise to the project and came up with a clever, yet simple, solution. Peter is very pleasant to work with and gets along with all of his co-workers at all levels of the company. He is an experienced expert in all fields of mechanical engineering but is also quite skilled in electronics. He is also very well-connected and has many contacts in the field. I have been very pleased at the work Peter has carried out for us quite timely, and of very high quality. Without question, our company will continue to work with Peter Hanaway.
