Hawthorne Market

The positive reviews of the place are well warrented, being a cozy convenience store with a fair selection of goods. The staff as I have read, for the most part sound like cool people. The lady working tonight was not, in fact, a very cool person. Seeing as they didnt have my niche flavor of candy, I proceeded to walk out of the place empty handed. However, before I could leave I was shouted at to stop and to not steal from the store. Seeing as how this was a more than a fair bit incorrect on her part, I go to the front counter and empty all my pockets in front of her. Firmly telling her I did not in fact take anything, making it incredibly obvious it was a total misread on her end. Maybe it was intimidation by a reasonable level of pushback or some other weakness of character, she proceeded to shout at me to never come to the store again and to not shoplift from a mom and pop store, including other choice words. As an aside, I am morally oppossed to shoplifting from small bussinesses for obvious reasons. Anyway, seeing as how this person is laughably out of their depth, I left the store dissappointed and wished a less than genuine rest of her evening. I ended up getting something else from the safeway nearby.

Great selection of hard kombucha, cbd drinks, hi-ball, Electrolit, single wines, and beer. The new workers are super friendly and keep the regular hours which is much appreciated! The owner is super nice too and takes suggestions for new products to bring in. All around a great market that I love to support.

I love this spot. It's the closest place on Hawthorne that carries oil burners. They are only three dollars. It's the closest place to Southeast that I can find that does. They also carry some limited vape supplies and limited pipes and what not.
