I was driving home from work one night at about midnight in 1990. I worked really close to home and this one time, I thought to myself, I was just too tired to put on my seatbelt. Please be advised, you are never too tired, or too anything to avoid putting on your seatbelt. Do you want to know why? Because that one time that you don't put on your seatbelt is the time that you get hit head-on by a drunk driver and your head will almost go through your windshield. That's what happened to me.That unfortunate encounter with that drunk driver and my decision not to wear a seatbelt back in 1990 has terrible affects on me currently. I can't work my 8 hour shift, sitting at a computer 5 days in a row without excruciating pain in my neck and shoulders.I use a good CBD cream to mitigate the pain but the pain relieving effects don't last that long. I get up periodically and stretch but still, by the end of my tour, all I'm capable of doing is taking my muscle relaxer and pain killer and lay down for a couple hours. I even get Botox injections to keep the migraines at bay. But recently, despite my best efforts and Botox, I had two severe migraines in one week. I tried sleeping but the pain was too acute. I ended up in the emergency department at 3:00 am twice. It had been almost 2 years since I'd seen Dr. Bender and had a therapeutic massage. Clearly going to the emergency room wasn't working for me. Even after they treated my migraine I could still feel it's presence. I needed a chiropractic treatment.I am so lucky that my insurance is good at Avista Chiropractic and luckier still that they could fit me in last Friday. I got an hour long massage. Sally really worked out all the knots, tight spots and just plain really fucked up muscles in my neck, shoulders and face. She did an awesome job. After my massage I saw Dr. Bender. I just love her. She finds everything that is out of balance and recalibrates it. She also does at treatment that I've never had any other Dr. do; headache protocol she calls it. She puts on surgical gloves and manipulates the roof of your mouth with her finger. It totally works. When I walked into Avista Chiropractic last Friday I was broken and in pain, I walked like an old lady. When I walked out of Avista Chiropractic last Friday, I felt whole, pain-free, and I felt a spring in my step.Thank you Sally and Dr. Bender.2023 Review #1

Within five minutes, I learned at least 3 vital things to promote my back health. Within 20 minutes, Dr. Jan was adjusting my lower back, mid back, upper back and neck. Each adjustment brought relief from the sharp back pain I'd been experiencing since working from home from a dining room chair that was never designed for long hours of work, day after day.Within two hours, I bought a new task chair and blue tooth key board to keep my posture in check while I work.Within 24 hours, I was enjoying more mobility in my upper back than I had for the last year. I'm sore from the adjustments but my pain level is down from a 6 to a two. I'm grateful.Dr. Jan is professional and enthusiastic about her practice and educating her patients. Her clinic is clean and provides easy parking. I wish I had known about task chairs for women at least 15 years ago, but I'm glad I know now. Dr. Jan let me sit in her chair so I could feel the difference--it was profound.

Love this place so much! I found it when I was pregnant and Jan helped me so much during my pregnancy. My baby couldnt latch at first and Jan adjusted him and after that he was able to breastfeed. What an amazing gift that was for us! I still go 18 months later and now my mom comes with me. Jan is wonderful, friendly and an amazing chiropractor. Tina is also amazing and so helpful! I could not recommend this enough!

Dr Jan SAVED me when I was pregnant. I was so lucky to find her during my pregnancy- she helped me so much! I cannot recommend her enough. She is so welcoming and sweet. I brought my newborn in because he was unable to latch/breastfeed and after one session with Jan he was able to breastfeed right afterwards. She. Is. Magic. I could not recommend her enough, especially for pregnant women :)

Great service and staff. "Tina" at the front desk is terrific and "Jen" is a sports-massage savant. I went to Jen for 12 weeks during a physical therapy sports massage routine and I've never felt more symmetrical with full range of motion. This office really knows their stuff, has reasonable prices, and works with all major insurance including Kaiser. Would recommend.
