Dr. Zhou is a savior and I am not even kidding; here is why. I live in New York and have been to several acupuncturists, masseuse and therapists in NYC hoping to be treated for my nagging lower back but most importantly, left shoulder pain. I have been living in pain for the past 5 years... the scariest one was my left arm shoulder arm. As we all know heart attacks begin right there so I was really worried. I try not to go to modern doctors but all my holistic doctors couldn't get to the crux of my pain. FINALLY, I met Dr. Zhou and told her about my left arm and lower back pain; both of which were hurting when I saw her. Thankfully, she diagnosed mine as a circulation issue. Within ONE session, she fixed my two pains!! Not only that, having had a left arm pain for 4-5 years, I recognize the symptoms of it coming which worries me a lot. After Dr. Zhou''s acupuncture, the difference was thought I felt the usual signs of stress kicking in which would trigger the arm pain (for work reasons) but thankfully, the same arm pain which otherwise would have been triggered because of this stress, did NOT happen!! For all you people looking for a holistic solution, I highly recommend Dr. Zhou!

If you are looking for competent and caring acupuncturists you can trust, the Golden Needle is the place to go. After trying acupuncture in various locations, I feel very fortunate to have encountered Dr. Qin and Dr. Zhou. They are exceptionally skilled, highly trained practitioners along with being world-wide educators as well. With their knowledge, care, congeniality and professionalism, they have offered me the highest standard of care, allowing me to have total trust and confidence in the services they provide. I first came to their clinic nearly 10 years ago with lower back pain. From the start, their treatment has been consistently effective, not just for pain but also for helping me maintain good health and an active immune system. Additionally, my husband came to Dr. Qin after two knee replacements and benefited from his treatments, and Dr. Zhou’s facials are extraordinary. At every appointment, Dr. Zhou and Dr. Qin are always pleasant and give full attention to every concern. I am grateful that they have brought the best quality care I could find in this community.

I work in the western medicine world as a nurse, and while I see the many benefits of western medicine on a daily basis, I also see its flaws. Western medicine saved my life when I was 12 years old and broke my neck in a trampoline accident. The major flaw with western medicine is it sees the human body in parts, not as a whole, functioning in a wider universe. Dr.Qin, and his partner Dr. Zhou, practice Traditional Chinese Medicine, (which does look at the body as a microcosm of the universe) at the highest level. Both are professors at NUNM, in addition to running their practice. I have been seeing Dr. Qin for three years now and his knowledge and skill are truly amazing. He is a rare practitioner that is very skilled at acupuncture and Chinese herbs, and is always learning and incorporating new methods and treatments in to his practice. He has helped my very fragile back and neck numerous times and kept me from having to get surgery. He provides herbs that keep me from getting the flu. He is very wise, calm, approachable and the clinic is a very calming, healing space. Dr. Qin is the "real deal" in Portland. There are many acupuncturists out there that are good, but if you want the best, I highly recommend visiting Golden Needle. Treatments typically last an hour and may involve cupping, needling, moxa, hot stones, and manual/hands on manipulation. They also accept insurance.
