image At first, I loved it here, but these people go through so many employees every other week. Theres somebody new in the leasing office all the time .
Not only that, but they caused a huge inconvenience with not having power at least two times a month the power goes out.
On July 26 ON MY BIRTHDAY
the power went out at 3:30 in the morning and the residents were left with no air conditioning no power whatsoever until 5:30 AM the next morning.
People that work in the leasing office the only thing they know what to do is give you an attitude or they hide or lock themselves in the leasing office and not open.
A lot of residents are upset and feel like were being taken advantage of. We pay so much to live here for us to not even get the amenities that we ask for. They charge me extra all the time. I always pay my rent on time and then when I go check my balance has cleared they go ahead and throw another fee there. I spend way too much money living here for these people not to cater to my needs and to my health. no resident should be left without no power for over 24 hours while its completely hot outsid. They of course dont compensate us for throwing away our food for going bad, because they are too cheap to buy a generator. Meanwhile all the hotels around us have power .
I love this place when SWAN was here she ran the place perfectly. She made sure all of her residents were taken care of. She made sure that she was here to help us all. Absolutely unacceptable that we pay all of this money for absolutely no reason and every manager they hire have a nasty attitude.

Hi Joshaira,Thank you for taking the time to submit a review. We strive to provide excellent customer service and a comfortable environment for current and future residents to come home to and their guests. We are sorry to hear that we did not achieve these goals with you, and we assure you this is not typical. Regarding the mention of power outages, we would like to clarify that these outages were a result of issues with Duke Energy equipment, which were unfortunately beyond our control. We understand the inconvenience this may have caused, and we apologize for any disruptions during that time. We're happy to let you know that they have replaced the faulty lines in our area that was causing the outages. I would like to help and invite you to stop by the office or contact us at 980.381.4786 at your earliest convenience. Thank you again for your time. – Team Spoke at Tyvola

image Be careful when applying and make sure to cover any and all bases, this may be an isolated experience but I feel I should make this known to possibly prevent this happening to someone else.
Anyway, I don't live here, haven't ever been a tenant of theirs, but I did go through their application process entirely, which from the moment I inquired to the very last minute, I had been made to feel comfortable and confident I would be approved for a unit.
The first half of the application process was very suspicious to me, and I now see why. They don't ask much about the usual things applications would, but do ask for your eye color and things like that. I think no matter what you say on the first half they make you think you're a shoe-in. Once you've been "pre approved" that's when they want you to pay the fee of close to $300 dollars, I forgot the exact amount. Thats very expensive for an application fee, but I paid it because I was under the impression I would be approved, OR IF NOT I WAS GETTING THE APPLICATION FEE REFUNDED TO ME. THIS WAS CONFIRMED BY STAFF MULTIPLE TIMES.
Low and behold a few days later, I was denied. Told to wait at most 8 weeks for my refund, but I haven't received anything back. Neither the lady working on site, or the lady above her will respond to my emails anymore and I've been scammed.
So unless you have a perfect credit score and/or 300 bucks and a few weeks you're ready to waste, watch out for this place
UPDATE: after posting this review I received a check for 200 within days, would've believed the review didn't have anything to do with me actually receiving it..... IF the date on the check wasn't the day after I posted.

image Power has been out 3 times in the past 2 weeks. July 26th, July 27th, and August 5th. The power has been out 10+ times since December.
This place will also try over-charging you when you leave. And when you ask management why you are being charged, they will not give you a straight answer and then "refuse" to respond to you in writing when you ask them where in the lease it justifies the charges.
Avoid this place.

image The Spoke at Tyvola has gone through a lot in one year. This place used to be some kind of old motel, so many of these units are remodled fixer-uppers rather than new construction, so keep in mind you will likely see a lot of signs of repair and paintovers. Though, this doesn't bother me much, as long as things work.
The property was acquired by a different company, Rangewater, about half a year ago and it caused a major turnover with the staff, so reaching out to someone was extremely difficult. I actually tried to call and email someone for a lease renewal, but I never got a response until 30 days before my expiration date, which is not enough time for me to make such a big decision. I ended up finding a new place. But, I want to give Alicia a special thank you for hearing my situation and helping me finally begin my move-out after speaking with her in person, since I never received a response using their website's email portal or phone line. Alicia proves that there are still some people working here that can get things done, so thank you!
We've had tons of power outage and internet issues since the old company, BUT this has since been resolved under Rangewater, so I can't fault them for this. Keep in mind that while they have a pool, it's been closed for use since my entire lease. They also have a small fitness room with a few dumbbells/treadmills and a small building for washers/dryers. It's not much, but when you compare the rent prices here to basically any other apartments in Charlotte, I think its fine for what it is.
We've had maybe 3 community events since 2023 started. It hasn't been much, and they usually notify us of these events on the same day they host them around noon and make it last from 3pm to 5pm. Unless you happen to already be on the property to make it, you will likely miss these events. This is definitely something they could improve.
In terms of their resident portal, I'm not a fan. Like I said before, you almost never get a response or confirmation if you send them an email through the portal. To pay rent, the service they use charges a $2 fee for ACH transactions and you must use Plaid, which has had several controversies about selling bank data unlawfully. I've refused to use it and have been paying rent with cashier's checks instead.
In terms of maintenance, the crew under the old company was excellent. I've never had anything break down while Rangewater was here, so I'm not sure how their crew is at handling repairs.
The location here is very nice. I don't get a feeling like I'm in danger when walking outside and I rarely hear any loud noises, though you will most likely need to take a car if you plan to go anywhere farther than the Costco up the road.
Overall, I'd say they are doing a decent job for the price point. Things should be on the upswing if they are given enough time to get their staffing up to acceptable levels and keep working on property improvements.
I have not gone through the full move-out procedures yet. I will edit my review and could add/remove a star depending on how the process goes.

image Where do I start.. As you can see from the previous reviews, there have been a lot of the same reoccurring issues. This complex had the potential to be a decent community. However, both managing companies dropped the ball. A few of the top concerns, continuous power outrageous. This is not for an hour here or there but for hours (all day) every other week like clock work. I moved here September 2022, these outages started in late December 2022, January of 2023 to date. Is this not a major concern that should be on the top of the list to address? Although, the WIFI was not an issue I had until about June/July 2023, this too started to become incredibly slow or go out consistently. Which, the combination of these two things create an issue when you work from home. I am, then being inconvenienced having to go into my office or somewhere else. The mailroom, the gym, the bike room, laundry room and pool had not been opened for quite some time. Early/mid November 2022 most amenities opened , except for the pool. The pool, has yet to be opened to date. Are we not paying for the use? I can go on and on.. I will say things became worst when management changed from RKW to Range Water. All of the temporary staff incredibly rude, unprofessional and not helpful. As they have dropped the price and it looks good BEWARE there is a reason.. the high move out rate would be why. It has gone downhill, including whom they are now letting in to be at capacity.
