    I had a terrible experience with this practice. I had a session with a Nurse practitioner (NP) who explained to me I could not get one of my prescriptions unless I saw someone in person first. So I made an appointment and saw Dr. Farkas. After that the NP prescribed all my medications. After 3 months, that NP left the practice and I was assigned NP #2 and I had to fill her in on my background and start all over again. But she continued to prescribe my meds. 3 months later the NP #2 left the practice and I had to start all over with NP #3. She told me She could not prescribe all my meds unless I came to see her in person. I explained that I had already seen Dr. Farkas in person and that was good enough for NPs #1 and #2. But she explained that the other NPs were wrong and it was illegal for her to prescribe me controlled meds without seeing her in person. She then explained that she only comes into the office once a month. So in the meantime I would have to get that med through my primary care doctor. I finally had an appointment to see her that I arranged to take the day off work for. The day before the appointment I was called and told the NP #3 had a family emergency and had to cancel. So I made an appointment for the next month , took the day off work but that morning I was called and the appointment was canceled. So I made a 3rd appointment to see another NP#4 and took the day off again. I went into the office and no one was there. NP#4 was not coming in that day and no one had called to let me know. Also, please note , I received confirmation texts for all these appointments. I spoke to Dr. Farkas and she apologized for the glitch and called in a prescription for me for a weeks worth of my meds. I tried to explain to her that at that point I was in crisis and I needed my meds increased or adjusted and she told me no one was available to see me for another 2 weeks.. I tried to wait for another 2 weeks but I ended up having to go to the emergency room for help.

    I have been with Pearl for over a yearand specifically, Donna Hooks has been my therapist and she is amazing. She has been super helpful and supportive, and has helped me get to the root of my issues. I highly recommend her. I am seeing reviews about poor billing practices; this has not been my experience at all. Obviously, people have different experiences, but I have had a very good one.

    I met with Dr. Farkas at Northwell. After explaining to her how upset/anxious I was after having been assaulted by an acquaintance, she proceeded to contact the same acquaintance who assaulted me to inform them that I was being discharged from the emergency department and was available to be picked up. I had already informed her that the individual listed as my emergency contact was the person that had assaulted me. Dr. Farkas knowingly handed me over to the individual that had assaulted me, placing me directly back into harms way. Dr. Farkas then lied to the hospital staff, and informed them that she had told me that she would be contacting this individual to inform them of my discharge (which she absolutely did not do). Notably, there was NO HIPAA RELEASE for the individual whom she contacted only an emergency contact. A formal complaint has been filed with the State and with the licensing board due to Dr. Farkas dangerous mistreatment and due to her violating HIPAA.

    Terrible experience. While Farkas is an adequate doctor, I have never once received a prescription on time. The few times that it has been correct, the dosage has been wrong. Most times, I end waiting up days, weeks, or even months from the time I have my appointment to the time my medication is filled. My voicemails are rarely returned. When I ask the office staff about the status of my prescription I'm told the same thing every time: "We are sorry for the inconvenience, your prescription is pending signature." Why it takes weeks for a doctor to sign a piece of paper, I'll never know. It literally took 3 months for a prior authorization to be signed. While the telehealth option is convenient, I am changing doctors after one year of going here. I can't risk going weeks without my medication anymore.

Hi, we appreciate the feedback. As our voicemail recording says, please always allow 5 business days for refills to go through. Sometimes the electronic prescriptions have to be resent for reasons beyond our control (the pharmacy doesn't get them despite us putting them in). Please also note, it is the pharmacy who notifies you of the refill being ready; we do not have the capacity to do so. Lastly, as our consent to treatment document says, insurance changes need to be communicated to us in a timely manner since an insurance change also means the prior authorization has to be done all over again. In light of these points we hope you'll consider staying with us but if not best wishes for the future and please be well.
