My daughter is a traditional learner. She started at McLean in the 4th grade and now she's a senior. For 8 years we've been commuting approximately 40 miles each way; and it's been worth it. We went from a private school with a class size of about 28 kids to a class size of 10. Over the years, I've watched my shy daughter become a self-advocate and develop a level of confidence that 8 year later she became Student Government President. McLean is the perfect environment because my daughter was able to participate in the strings program, develop a love for art and participated in a variety of sports. Some she was great at and some were new. The beauty about McLean that it's a safe environment where a child feels comfortable to take a risk as something new. Last but not least, as a mom of a Senior I can't say enough about McLean's College Counseling Office. The College Counseling Service is OUTSTANDING. The college counselors are prepared; attentive and really take the time to assist the student and families thru the college search process.
