Resident

This was one of the most unique and delicious dining experiences I've had in the city. I can't wait to attend another dinner soon. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing experience! The staff were all courteous and welcoming from the moment we walked through the door. The food and wine pairings were perfect matches and we thoroughly enjoyed/appreciated the chefs stories attached to each meal. Although it was our first experience with Resident it wont be our last. We look forward to going back.

This was my first experience at Resident and it was fantastic. I liked that it had an exclusive/private atmosphere with an open kitchen that I was sitting and dining right in front of. As a huge foodie, this was a very unique experience of being able to see how the chefs work and eating their creations right in front of them. The food was of course fantastic and the wine pairings that came with each dish was also great. Service was good and it felt like a private dining experience with a celebrity chef. I'm looking forward to booking another one of Resident's events.

What a fun and unique experience! We really enjoyed the Resident concept. We attended Chef Yeongsoo Lee's event in the Brooklyn location. The food, staff, and venue were all exceptional. My dining partner and I arrived early and were disappointed that we were seated at a high-top away from the "open kitchen." We were unable to change seats, but that was the only negative. Apparently they try to accommodate seating preferences if you contact them in advance, so the seats by the kitchen were already strictly assigned. Good to know for next time! The rest of the night went without a hitch. The staff was attentive and the coursing was well-timed. Each course came with a wine pairing (generous pours too!), so dinner was actually a good value despite the seemingly high price tag.for a five-course prix fixe menu. Plus, no additional gratuity is expected; everything is included with the upfront ticket price. As to the most important part--the food, Chef Yeongsoo Lee's menu was stellar. I'll admit there's a certain joy in experiencing a rising chef's menu before he/she opens his/her own restaurant; I feel like I'm discovering NY's next great talent, lol. That was part of the appeal for me even though all the chefs listed have impressive resumes, so I'm really not making any grand discoveries :-p Bottom line: just go. It's truly a worthwhile experience.

The food was mostly good, but anything we ate was soured when they sat me and my guest at a table that was not locked down. We didn't realize it until a little pressure was put on the table top causing it to flip over, spilling alcohol and a lit candle in my direction. Got wet, glass shattered, then was asked what did I do? In order to not spoil the evening I laughed about it, but it could have been a complete disaster. Luckily I was unharmed, but I was wet. Reached out to their email and received no response. Even after the spill, they didn't adequately clean the area leaving me a wet chair and floor by by side.
