Friendly place. Good food. I had the Goulash. Beef was buttery soft. My partner had the mussels. There were a lot of mussels. But she wasnt impressed. They were ok. Service was great. We have had drinks there as well. The bartender was great too.

Had not a very peasant interaction with manager before (I guess he is a manager - guy with beard and flat cap) - not the friendliest person in terms of accommodating customers needs. This time I was supposed to come with my family and my daughters family (2 adults and 2 children - a toddler and baby in a stroller). Called in the morning, made reservation. Specifically mentioned we have a baby in a stroller and that the stroller is very small and will not take much room. No one said anything about the stroller. My family came in first. We sat down and ordered drinks. But when my daughter came in - they were told strollers not allowed inside. When I tried to argue and said no one warned me, I was accused of misunderstanding them. They also said they would offer us a high chair. High chair for 5 months old baby who cant even sit up yet. Told them we are walking away )he was quite surprised). Too bad we touched those drinks so we had to pay for them. Btw they added 20% service charge that they charge for 6 people or more. Well, they only let 3 people in! I left some tip just because I didnt have exact change but it was not 20% I want the owner to see this review and know that we walked out and this couldve easily be $300 for the place. Needless to say we are not coming back, nor my daughters family.

This place is great! In my experience, it's hard to make Austrian food both exciting and affordable. Werkstatt's vibe is really welcoming and fun, with an entire motorcycle hooked on the wall. The staff is friendly, and the food is excellent. We'll be back to try more dishes, but the mussels were absolutely perfectly flavored. I had a Sacher Torte, which was a bit on the drier side, but usually, this kind of cake isn't super moist but more on the compact side. I did get to try the Farmer's cheese strudel of my other party, and that one was served in vanilla sauce, which is also a traditional way to eat it, and that dessert was just the bomb, I'll get it next time! I highly recommend it. As someone who has tried a lot of Austrian food in Austria, this place is perfect when you hit a bit of nostalgia.
