Christine is the Maintenance Coordinator for Desert Realty and must love her job because she is so very good at it. I had no heat in my house, I went online and filled out a Maintenance request. Christine called me immediately, a heating company came out fixed it. Done within 24 hrs I was very impressed and happy!

Update: Joshua from maintenance left the company. I texted him to get an update on a maintenance order for no heat that I put in 11 days ago because nobody from the office will reply to me. His reply was: No I no longer work with that place they are a joke. Yea that Lisa is so shady, sorry youre dealing with all that. I tried to turn that place around but they refuse to be decent people. Just to clarify also; my initial google review was 1 star after they moved me into a roach infested home with appliance and power issues as well. They said they would take care of the issue, but after sending pest control several times I was still seeing roaches all over the place - even crawling into my bed while I was asleep. I had to take care of the issue myself with diatomaceous earth and it still took weeks before they were gone. After leaving a one star review the office texted me and actually threatened to cancel my lease leaving me homeless - this is why it was then changed to three stars in appreciation for Joshuas help regarding power and appliance issues and somewhat out of my fear of unjustly being kicked out of my place.

UPDATED REVIEW: RESPONDING TO THE REPLY Since I am unable to reply directly. Old review: Ensure you check all plugs, appliances, and the circuit when you plan to rent from Desert Realty. They will not personally tell you what is wrong with the house or check it out before renting it. All they will say is that they had someone fix it up and it is ready. Also, they will not always contact you about any additional fees while you are preparing to rent a property. I gave them the deposit they initially told us for the house but in came time to sign the lease they said that it was actually a double deposit for us to move luckily I was able to afford it otherwise we would've waited on the move after being all excited to move that day. We moved into the property on 2/24/23 and we immediately started marking the issues with the house. However, it is now 7 days in and the only thing they came to fix was the plumbing that was leaking under the bathroom sink and outside. Our microwave can not be used, it shuts off all the appliances and yesterday 6th day of living there, it shut off completely including all the lights and plugs downstairs. My kids had to eat dinner in the dark and I had to get all ready made food because I am unable to cook in the dark and the oven is off. So, make sure you check everything before you sign that lease. It should not be this difficult to have someone just come down and check out what's wrong especially if we have 30 days to submit it before they charge us $65 for each repair. Reply to the respond below: Thank you the respond. I am glad that the $65 is no longer a thing. In regards to the repairs I understand that you check before you rent your properties out but its no harm in me sharing with people to check over again so that they arent blindsided and its fyi for new movers to not be naive and just assume its all great and then slammed with issues like not being able to use your kitchen the first week you move in and with little kids at that. In regards to the additional fees. I am well aware of the credit I have. Again the main thing was we werent in form of the double deposit because of hence credit until we came down to sign. We paid the deposit then came down to sign and was told we actually owe another exact amount of what we just paid because its double security. If this in detailed enough for readers to understand. So yea, we did have to go back and replan our moving and decide if we were really gonna put down that much for us to move and we did with no regrets. Again purpose of a review is just to inform those who dont know to kind of know what to expect. The repairs when we moved, some have been fixed, some are waiting for parts like our bathrooms and soap holder and some are waiting for approval like the roof we found out during recent rains its leaking through my daughters roof and the dishwasher thats collecting water on bottom. Ive adjusted the stars to where I feel the improvement is at. My family have been in this beautiful building for 6 months and paid faithfully. My only issues are stated already like the appliances & room lights not working but the building itself looked great.

Thank you for your updated review so we can clarify your misconceptions…It absolutely goes against our policy to threaten anyone, especially tenants. As a company, we do not tolerate that kind of behavior. Therefore, we would very much like to know who threatened you over a 1-star review. If you are referring to the text our property manager sent you, she *offered to cancel your lease less than 24-hours after you signed because you were dissatisfied with the property upon move-in. You declined that offer and continue to rent. Perhaps, though, you are referring to another employee and circumstance. If that’s the case, please let us know.Secondly, Joshua did not “leave the company.” He was fired for dereliction of duty and very unprofessional behavior with owners *and tenants. After being exposed and fired, it comes as no surprise that he would disparage one of our best employees, Lisa, and our company.Despite your misguidance, we are happy your issues have been resolved, and we look forward to working with you for the remainder of your lease.

Hi, Joanrae. Thanks so much for taking the time to write us a review so that we can address these issues.First, when Desert Realty rents a property, that property has been inspected to make sure it is ready for move-in. Our business gains nothing by not having a unit ready for new tenants. It is unfortunate that there were maintenance issues after you moved in, but we did correct them as soon as our vendors were able to schedule you. All issues were resolved by March 13, 2023.In regards to the "additional fees" you mentioned, it is our practice to obtain a double security deposit when a tenant has a credit score below 600, as was explained to you prior to February 2, 2023, when you were still living in one of our other properties. February 2nd is when you brought in half of your security deposit for your current home and signed the deposit receipt stating that you were only putting up half of the security deposit at that time. We would never take a property off market and make arrangements for a new tenant to move in without making sure they could meet the financial requirements to do so. That makes absolutely no business sense. In addition, you'll be happy to know that we no longer charge $65 for repairs that pertain to habitability.
