As someone self-employed, getting a mortgage isn't the easiest.Thankfully, Mark and his crew turned what could've been a nightmare into success! He took the reins, got me my financing and into my dream home! Thank you for all your help!

Mark and his team are very helpful with the home buying process. As a first time homebuyer the process can be stressful and long but they really helped guide us and supported us all the way through to a successful closing. I would definitely recommend!!

I cannot recommend Mark Baker at Cardinal Financial enough. First, the backs story: we had initially contacted Guild Mortgage for our new home being built through KB Homes but after being pre-qualified via Guild and then working with them for an entire year, our Guild loan officer stopped answering calls and when I complained to the office, it was radio silence for two weeks before I was given a new agent who, was pressed on what had happened to the previous loan officer had informed me that he had "abruptly ended his employment with Guild" (i.e. read between the lines, it sounds like he was fired). She also informed us that instead of 10% down, I would need to put 20% down. Now, this is a mortgage for over $500K so I didn't have another $50K+ just lying around. The new Guild loan officer tried her hardest and she was nice but when you're picking up the mess of someone who had been asleep at the wheel for months (and who hadn't done a rate lock so rates went from 3% up to 6.5% under Guild's watch - I was furious). After two weeks of back and forth with Guild and being at my wits end as I had roughly $50K in escrow that I could not walk away from, I accidentally came across Mark in an internet search. Now, this was really the 11th hour in terms of our mortgage as I had first applied for our lot with KB Homes in June of 2021, ground was broken on our home in January 2022, and then it was set to close on August 4th. Here I was, at the end of June having to find a new lender. While at work, I called Mark Baker's office and I explained my situation to Wayne who took pertinent info and was kind enough to just give it to me straight with both barrels that I was in a cluster but that they'd seen way worse and rescued those situations. A couple hours later, Mark called me, gregariously, optimistically, and confidently laid out my options, and recommended one in particular. It took some leg work to undo all of the mess Guild had created but he rescued the situation and when Guild had been offering 6.5% *after* paying $20,000 in points and trying to combine that with a HELOC, Mark found me a 6.125% on a conventional mortgage with $1,400 bought in points. It closed smoothly and the feeling of relief my wife and I had was like nothing else we had felt in the previous year. Mark, Wayne, and Cara truly rescued the situation and I cannot recommend them highly enough. When I buy a second home, I will absolutely use him again as he really is "The Mortgage Maker."
