After a double spinal surgery and a week in the hospital. My wife was discharged at 9 am August 23rd. While going thru the paperwork, we were asked if Southwest Medical contacted us regarding the immediate physical theraphy needed. We did not hear from anyone and we were discharged with a walker, excercise band, instruction and a ball. After waiting 2 days, I called Southwest Medical...held for 40 minutes. Hung up and called again, held for 30 minutes and then left a message. Received a call later in the day, telling me that with 24 hours the theraphy would begin and we'd get a call. Well it 7 days since discharge. I HAVE BEEN WALKING MY WIFE; I HAVE BEEN ASSISTING HER WITH THE BAND EXCERSIZES, I HAVE HELPED HER WITH THE BALL. They have done nothing. Now, I decide to call them again..."Oh we're sorry about that. "We will schedule a nurse to come out this week:, they stated. I asked, after a week, they will finally start theraphy..."Actually no. The first thing we do is send a nurse out to determine the level and need, they we process the request, contact the Hospital and surgeon and then we sent up times for your theraphy." So you are telling me that my wife will not have any in home therapy until 10-14 days have passed from discharge? The worse ever and still no call to set things up.

My experience with So. West Medical Hospice : My Father was in Hospice from 2017-2019. He just passed away at 102. He was given the BEST care. The nurse's were just a phone call away and My Dad was treated with respect & absolute professional care. When my dad passed away on 3/3/2019 Tom, the Chaplin lead my father's service. The help I received does not stop there. They offer support for grieving Caregiver's.

The worst hospice ever. A huge mistake. My dying friend was at home and had fallen while on hospice with Family Home Care. Once he was in bed, hours away from death, they just left. Total strangers in the home with him and they walked out the door. When we asked about someone to be with him for his final hours for medications and anything else he would need, they responded that they don't do that because they don't have to. Just call when he passes. This is not how hospice is supposed to work. I'm dumbfounded.

Not good! Not enough visits from Doctors or nurses. They are not on same page with medicine given by live/ins at group home. I noticed 5 days without bath or shower help. I had to request a visit from a nurse everyday towards the end. Wish I had known that my loved one had a choice of which Hospice to use. Just because he was with SW Medical he was given to Family Home Hospice. The two live/ins were very nice and did all that they could . They were the only plus !

Two Words: No Compassion. If your okay with business minded healthcare, then you'll have no problem. Bad Vibe from this company, but who are they supposed to accountable to? It's a business to them. At least pretend like you give a you know what, for heavens sake, my loved one is going to die. SMH.
