The worst of the worst !!No notice that was given why the Alta Care Home Care will not send a nurse after the original nurse called in sick 2 hours before my appointment; I called this Alta Home Care 4 times to send me a text or e-mail that I'm under the gun and please text me or e-mail if they can or cannot send a substitute; Certainly not a patients great care.

My 94-year-old friend has been receiving occasional services from Alta Care for just over a month.  She has a fractured L-2 and pulmonary hypertension.  Alta is very inconsistent with their visits, sometimes they show up, many times they don't and they literally SCREAM at her while they're there because they think she's hard of hearing, she's not.  She's not very cooperative, she's 94, but they don't really do anything to encourage her cooperation, it seems as though they cannot wait to get out of there when they come to visit.  A visit from the RN lasts about 6 minutes and a PT visit lasts about 12 minutes.  Both are supposed to come twice a week and we haven't seen a nurse since July 14 and there's been no PT since the 15th.If you are assigned this company by your health insurance, call them and ask them to assign a different company so that you get proper care.  Alta's employees aren't very nice and they're LAZY.

My mom had a knee replacement on Dec 21st with Dr. Kang from Desert Orthopedic Center. They schedule a home nurse to come over to care for my mom Dec 23rd. NO ONE Show UP!!! We call Desert Orthopedic Center & Alta Care Homehealth, No one call us back. We finally got a hold of someone at Alta Care by December 28th. They said my mom's insurance expired Dec 31st, that is why they haven't send anyone over. Which blows my mind!!! 10 days before the insurance expired but she can't use it. My mom work for MGM, since the shut down she will lose her insurance by the 31st of December but she already paid for cobra to kick in by Jan 1st. I can't believed that these people are blaming the insurance company, instead owning up to their mistakes, if they didn't have enough staff, just say it. That way we can use other company like Meadows Home Health or Home Base to care for my mom. I'm beyond furious & sadden that Alta Care HomeHealth can be so careless, to let someone sit for 8 days without informing them why they couldn't help. You have cause our family to worried & run around this holiday. All you had to do was call us on the 23rd of Dec, said you can't help us.
