        During a dental checkup, I discovered there was an infection in a tooth that had had a root canal in the 70s. I was referred to Dr. Mangels and he said an extraction and bone graft was required. I expected it might be as painful as a root canal, but quite the contrary. He explained everything that was going to happen, step by step. I think I was in and out within 30 minutes (including follow-up scheduling and having prescriptions written). He told me I probably wouldn't need the narcotic Rx and he was right. Ibuprofen easily managed the pain. No bruising. Quick healing. It couldn't have gone better. Even the shots were gentle. It was easier than any filling I've ever had.
