More Than Just a Coach More and more people are asking themselves the question, Am I doing the right things at the right time in the right way? Am I reaching my full potential? Or is it just me that asks that? Well, if Im alone, then I did the right thing by reaching out to someone who could help me find the right answers, and those professional services were provided by Adenike Makinde and her Joyfully Coaching method. During our coaching time together, I was encouraged by the attention that Adenike paid to my needs, but she took specific care to ask me more in depth questions for two reasons: 1.) To make sure she was advising me based on her clear understanding of what I just shared and 2.) To get ME to understand where the origin of what I was feeling may have started. By doing this it opened me up to some revelations about myself and how I viewed my successes and failures and how to use those realizations to move myself forward. With that foundation, each session with Adenike was spent establishing my goals, reviewing our last sessions progress and building upon that progress with written exercises and verbal coaching. She put me at ease and helped my confidence by letting me know that despite being in the wilderness perhaps with no clear path to follow, its during that time you really need to ask questions, listen to the answers and apply what you learn. As a result Ive made headway with my job search and more importantly I understand myself a lot better and realize where my gifts and talents are better served. Its OK to ask for help, and Im glad I reached out to a professional who had my best interests at heart.
