When I first moved in my unit, it was not move in ready. The master bedroom balcony is rotting and falling apart. 4 months later it is still not fixed. Both batheoom sinks were clogged. The refrigerator needed to be repaired. The baseboards were dirty and unpainted.
The master bedroom shower also did not work. The entire shower had to be torn out and replaced. The contractors who came to make repairs were rude to me because they felt my furniture needed to be moved, and they wanted to start repairs that could have potentially damaged my upholstered furniture the same day. I asked for them to cover my furniture with tarp before the repairs were made to avoid damage and there was pushback and rude behavior. I was also told by Myra I would have to pay for the tarp. She changed her tune once I reached out to property manager Kurtis Roesler. The saddest part of all is that tarp costs nothing, so why the pushback on something so minimal?
Now four months into my lease my closet shelving system has broken twice. Before the first repair was made, the apartment maintenance tech Claudia came to my unit, and said that the shelving unit should ideally be replaced with metal bars.l advised Myra of this before the second repair. She said to "wait and see" what the contractors said. The contractors made a flimsy repair and then placed plastic brackets on the existing shelving system. Those plastic brackets were haphazardly placed and they too broke. I put in another workorder to address the broken brackets, but before anyone came for that repair the entire shelving system broke once more.
It took almost one month and a half and three work orders put in, before Myra contacted me and stated they had already fixed it once before.
So now what? Is she insinuating that I need to pay for future repairs? I knew it was wise to end the conversation because Myra was unwilling to acknowledge our previous conversation on the day the initial repair was made. She would not take accountability for the fact that I told her the repair of an an already existing and faulty/flimsy shelving system would not suffice and that the apartment maintenance tech Claudia stated that an alternative closet system was needed.
Also, have been nicked and dimed at every turn and was lied to by Myra regarding the cost of my water bill. "It should only be 20 dollars per month" she stated. Instead every month I have been responsible for water, sewage, gas trash, and administrative fees that total an additional 60-80 dollars on top of my base rent every month. I was not told I would be responsible for these additional fees up front.
I no longer call the office and have requested communication via email and those wishes continue to get ignored. I don't feel safe going in a leasing office where I could potentially be disrespected and disregarded. The property manager Kurtis is never anywhere to be found and when I have been able to reach him , I have addressed behavior of staff with him, only for him to attempt to minimize the behavior and say things like "they didn't mean it." The $250.00 credit for the initial state of the unit does nothing to address and does not excuse1 continued issues with both my unit and customer service of staff.
