Patricia is great. It's my second year going to her. I believe she gets me everything I can get. She's super friendly too.
My issue is with how expensive the fees are to use her service. I'm a newly single mom. I had never filled alone until my '21 taxes. With covid relief in place, my return amount was shocking and a major relief for me, as a struggling mom. I was surprised at the amount of the fees then, but my return was complicated, so I thought that was it. My return this time was much less and the return was easier as my employment was different in '22. Yet the fees were only $50 or so less than last time and it wound up taking half my return! Patricia was able to find me $325 more than I was able to do on my own online, but with the fees, I wound up getting $275 less than I would have doing it alone. That being said, I will not be using H&R Block again. I count on that money to get caught up or make bigger purchases that I cannot throughout the year or maybe even a trip with the kids. This year I'm lucky to only be able to help myself make rent while I take a little time off for birthday happenings for my daughter.
