And if for some reason, you decide "yes," get everything, and I mean everything, in writing.
I was offered a Chase first-time homebuyers grant and a quote match. Those two offers were never used or referred to in the same sentence. So, I sign up and commit the $500 application deposit and she pulls the homebuyers grant out from under me the next day. She then says it's one or the other, not both. I have to pick. So, I emailed her manager Joany Parks, who said she would call me. Two days later Joany emails and says she called and left a voicemail. Only thing is, I had had my phone near me all that day--no missed calls--and I had just changed cell phone carriers a couple weeks prior and had not set up my voicemail--meaning she didn't leave me a voicemail as that was literally impossible. She went on to write that my property wasn't eligible for the grant. I informed her that the first time I spoke with Seerly, she quite literally double-checked and said it was eligible. So, Seerly follows up Joany's email with an email of her own saying, "Well, it's sort of eligible but needs approval." Just a mess. They didn't even have enough respect for me to coordinate their fake stories.
Also, she botched the appraisal: my property didn't require one, but somehow she ordered one anyway and informed me hours before closing.
As far as the "no closing costs," we agreed on, I had to email and text again and again and again to get them off and they were never taken off until a few hours before closing--and even then, the presentation of the settlement statement created some doubt if all of them were taken off. My attorney wasn't entirely sure either.
Anyway, proceed with caution. And you can try to get everything in writing, but believe me, she will ignore you and try to handle it with a phone call. Then, you'll have to request she follow up with an email and she likely won't do it.
Just don't. Just find someone else.
