Leña Brava

This place was great! I highly recommend because the food, atmosphere, and service was great. We were seated in the second floor of the restaurant. We decided to order the meat platter which is worth every penny. It was about $80 but worth getting all different meats, handmade tortillas, salsas, and queso fresco. The waiter recommended the cauliflower mash which we were hesitant to order but it was delicious & would order again. This was plenty of food for 2 people to share. We decided to order the caramelized cinnamon apples and to our surprise got a delicious apple apple basically with ice cream. This definitely too big for the 2 of us but we enjoyed every bite of it.

The food here was delicious and the atmosphere/scene was everything you'd want in a hot Chicago restaurant. I look forward to going back..

Took my family here as we heard great things. We started off with a variety of appetizers that were all phenomenal. As we were waiting for our main courses we were informed that the restaurants wood burning oven was out of order and that they could not make our meals. They provided us menus for the neighboring restaurant Cruz Blanca, which serves Mexican street food, and told us that we could order from there or go to a different restaurant. We had a party of 6, which included my 87 year old grandmother and my physically disabled father, so trying to find another restaurant in Fulton Market that would have room for our party at 6:00PM on a Saturday was not likely, so we decided to stay. We ordered tacos, burritos, and nachos from the menu. Then we waited, and waited, and waited. During this time the manager never came over to apologize for the wait or anything. Didnt even offer us a round of sodas which is what most of us were drinking. The server however was wonderful and clearly did his best. At the end of the mediocre meal we decided we had enough after our nearly 3 hour experience and left as soon as we could. We got the bill, which had an automatic 20% gratuity added to it, paid, and left. We were so very excited to try Lea Brava but after this poor experience we wont be returning.
