McLaren Chicago Review Matt Klucha Dear McLaren Friends, I recently purchased a McLaren 720s Spider, trading in my sweetheart 2023 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 7-speed which I picked up in Stuttgart having engaged in the European Delivery Program. What a thing!, as what Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear might say about the 720s What a thing!, as what Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear might say Smooth purchase process at McLaren Washington. I decided to make a road trip of sorts on my way back to Wisconsin. However, there were a few more surprises than I had expected: A few hiccups on my drive home: Suspension Failure Warning Low Battery Charge Warning Low Tire Pressure Warning After several discussions with McLaren Washington, McLaren Chicago picked up the 720s several days later. After a month, the following was completed in Chicago: Charge Battery fully Replace Suspension Accumulators Fix Coolant Leak Inflate Tires to Spec. The Accumulators worked out to be a nominal charge to me. The Coolant Leak was an uncompleted coolant hose clamp recall, though curiously the hoses were not covered, which I had to pay for ): Now, I must note these issues should have been resolved before I drove off from McLaren Sterling Washington, especially the coolant leak, as the coolant was leaking in a very high temperature area. As coolant is combustible, this could have potentially led to a fire and a complete destruction of the Car! However, now that the car is back in my possession, somehow the many challenges made this more sweet, in addition to the great memories accumulated enroute. A route which included The Udvar-Hazy Center Aerospace Museum, Thomas Jefferson's Monticello, George Washington's Mount Vernon, Virginia Museum of Transportation, the Richmond West Virginia State Capitol Building, and The Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Cheers. McLaren, making new memories... "...it is never too late to create fabulous new memories..." - Matt Klucha 03.2024 Best regards, Matt Klucha

Worst dealership experience ever car went in for an oil change and regular maintenance and came back with malfunction lights on dash that didnt exist before, my active air brake (wing) isnt working, one tire had a nail in it was loosing air completely in less than two days (wasnt ever an issue before), and car made more rattling noises that it did before service. Took it elsewhere and got photos and videos of broken panels that were either glued or double sided taped unfortunately. It literally seemed like no one knew whats going on or what theyre doing. Prices werent provided clearly before service was conducted, and was trying to charge me diag fee for inspecting why the air brake stopped working while car was at their possession suddenly (over $1000 to inspect btw!) Service adviser talks to you as if your a pain in the butt when you call because you receive absolutely no updates unless you decide to call after a few days of silence, and answers questions in a way that makes you feel stupid for asking if you read this far in this review Id like you to know that the fluid services theyve done to my 720S lead to getting rid of the vehicle as I had either to trade it in or sue the company for the damage that was done when it was really supposed to be a simple service and I know this can take months in court and can get really costly. Very frustrated since I was totally in love with my mclaren 720s but felt like the amount of damage done was gonna cost me tens of thousands of dollars to repair

Business Response on Google Oct 24th, 2023
Mr. Qadadha, we appreciate your feedback and understand the challenges that can arise when aftermarket components are installed on vehicles, such as the exhaust on your 720S McLaren. These modifications can affect performance and create noise issues. Additionally, the transmission problem you initially brought your vehicle in for diagnosis can have secondary effects, as the fluid system responsible for controlling the transmission is also linked to the air brake system. We acknowledge that these issues can be frustrating. We value your time and made sure to return your vehicle to you within the expedited time frame that you requested. Unfortunately, due to the limited timeframe, we were unable to fully diagnose the transmission issue or the aftermarket exhaust problem. Therefore, we did not charge you for the diagnostic quotes provided prior to commencing the work.Regarding the nail in the tire, we apologize for any inconvenience caused. While our drivers cannot inspect tire tread at the time of pick-up, inspection photos revealed the presence of a nail in the tire upon arrival. Based on its location and excessive wear, we believe the nail was already in the tire before our driver collected the vehicle. If you would like to discuss these issues further, please give me a call at 312-635-6482John KitzmillerMcLaren Chicago
