Dr. Karen Hawk APN

Very good nurse practitioner that treated me in an emergency. She gave me excellent care, good medication and the right treatment for my needs.

Dr Hawk is just great all-around: GENUINELY cares about her patients, she's knowledgeable, attentive, responsive, informative, and she has a very calm&warm demeanor that makes you feel very welcome. I *actually* look forward to seeing her, which is very seldom the case. The office staff is very friendly as well, at 2800 N Sheridan. I called Wednesday at 2:30pm because my ulcer was killing me, & I was having issues with my (now previous) psychiatrist. The receptionist told me they had an opening at 4, and I told her there was a chance I wouldn't make it in time (because I was at work an hour away). I ended up not being able to go, but when I called to tell them, the receptionist got Dr Hawk directly on the phone with me. It might be fair to say that she saved my life. She was also the only doctor I've been to that has taken my rheumatic issues seriously - I wouldn't even know that I have lupus if it weren't for her. I'd give her 10 stars if I could. Go see her!
