Based on all the high reviews I finally decided to give this massage spa a try today because I woke up feeling extremely stiff and my head was achey. First of all I had no expectations and I was extremely grateful that the receptionist here took me for a same day appointment and she scheduled me for a 50 minute Now massage after I told her I needed my scalp, upper shoulders and neck worked on. I suffer from chronic seasonal allergies and sinusitis so I emphasized I just wanted a really focused massage not a full body massage. When I arrived the receptionist offered me water and proceeded to ask me what I was there for. I again explained patiently that I was there primarily for neck pain, sinus pain and tmj. She suggested three add on services to my $100 massage treatment. She suggested I add on a scalp treatment with coconut oil, heated packs for my back and a salve with heat in it. I told her I wanted to adhere to a budget and said my Therapist would probably know what to suggest. At 7pm my Therapist lead me to a consultation room, sort of listened to me and suggested we add on the deep tissue option, coconut scalp treatment and cbd hemp oil. I accepted the scalp and deep tissue add on and she seemed upset that I didn't add on cbd oil too. Each add on is an additional $10 and I'm not a fan of cbd. She lead me to the massage room and asked me what I wanted to focus on so when she came back she completely ignored my suggestions and focused on my back for twenty minutes even though I asked for my head, sinuses, neck and feet to be worked on for the 50 minute session I had booked. She seemed surprised I requested to have my feet worked on but I explained I'm also a Therapist and work on my feet all day. I also believe in foot reflexology and if she had any knowledge of trigger point massage and foot reflex points she could have brought some relief to me. She pushed her agenda and worked mainly on my back so I insisted she let me turn over instead so the neck could receive attention. She used a ton of oil on me -- so much oil she wasn't truly able to use concentrated, focused pressure on my trigger points. I'm used to myofascial and trigger point massage so I didn't really understand why she just kept applying such copious amounts of oil over my muscles because it lead to a very ineffectual massage. The coconut scalp massage wasn't the most enjoyable experience because she kept adding more and more oil into my hair and when I left in my uber this evening I went through my limp, greasy hair and found broken off pieces of my own hair each time I ran my fingers through it. My hair definitely needs to be shampooed thoroughly tomorrow morning! Over all this experience is not worth repeating and I left with residual neck pain and a major lump that she somehow passed over and never addressed. She was more concerned with adding upcharges to my final bill than making sure I left pain free. She suggested I visit a physician because my muscles are so stiff. If a Therapist actually listens to your body you can leave pain free, stress free and "Glowing ". I left feeling like I hadn't been listened to and I was just a Monetary transaction. The manager asked me how I felt after the session and I told her the truth. I am disappointed with my treatment; the services I received weren't worth the high price point and I wouldn't return. I'm extremely picky and if I'm spending a total of $140 (including tip) for a 50 minute service then I expect to leave pain free and in a good frame of mind. I left here feeling stressed out and not listened to. I prefer myofascial massage and with a lot less oil. My scalp and hair feel disgusting! I think she used a quarter of a cup of oil on my hair today. Yuck!
