This hotel is a mixed bag, but let's paint the picture. First off, the location is a homerun - nestled right across from the iconic Wrigley Field, and surrounded by a bustling array of top-notch eateries and watering holes. Fast casual joints and quick bites are practically on every corner. Inside, the hotel gleams with cleanliness, and the staff radiate excellence. The hotel's bar is a lively spot, offering reasonably priced drinks that keep the good times flowing. However, let's talk about the room. While it's tidy, it lacks the wow factor. The beds are less than dreamy, the carpet bears the battle scars of past parties, and the bathroom needed a bit of elbow grease upon check-in. Despite carrying my own cleaning supplies, stumbling upon a brown stain on a washcloth next to the toilet was a definite low point. Additionally, the absence of a minibar or fridge in the room felt like an odd omission, leaving me to improvise with the provided bags of ice and an ice bucket/waste basket for chilling drinks. As if that weren't enough, the parking situation hits you where it hurts in the wallet. With a staggering $60 per night fee or $65 for valet, it's a steep price to pay. And don't forget to tack on an extra $10 tip each time you retrieve your car from valet. Considering I've experienced more luxurious stays at half the price elsewhere in Chicago, it's hard to justify a return visit. Would I recommend it? Well, tentatively yes, but with a laundry list of caveats.
