REI - Closed

Absolutely disgusted with some of the staff at this location. Overhead some older men at the registers talking and it makes me not want to support this store anymore. I have come in a few times and overhead some hate speech by some employees. Mainly from one who's name I recently learned is Q after he rung me up the other day. I was interested in getting a membership but now I would rather support a company who doesn't tolerate people like this. From my understanding and research REI is supportive of the LQBTQ+ community and BIPOC communities. Seems maybe you have some staff that doesn't agree with this. For someone to be opening talking about what they don't like about these communities at work when there is customers around is absolutely insane, tell them to get a grip. It is so uncomfortable to hear what people say when they don't know that you're listening.

love this store! Full of hiking clothes, gear and equipment! They also have a great selection of hiking shoes, boots and sneakers!

Stores clean and well stocked. Plenty of employees around. My issue here (this location) is I feel (and my wife) is that they follow you around, carefully watching what you are doing. Benefit of the doubt, we have been here a few times all with the same experience, with the store both being busy and not. Ive worked retail, as a manager, and with AP. Its the same behaviors as AP had when following those they thought were stealing. Ive never felt this way in any of their other locations. Been a member since 2017. Example, employee standing there holding a piece of clothing, almost frozen and staring at us as we try something on isnt going to make us buy something. They dont give all the customers the same treatment either.
