This place is so special! The chef has the warmest my spirit and you can tell hes passionate about good food! I had baked turkey wings, Mac and cheese, greens and cornbread and everything was AMAZING! Its hard to find true soul food that isnt over seasoned and this meal took me right back to my childhood.the greens were so tender omg! Oh and that strawberry pineapple juice is *chefs kiss*. Thank you Soulbox for a comfort meal that really helped make my day better.

To any person not willing to give COMPLETE 5 STARS...take a seat along with your ignorance because I knew based on the Owners (Hoyt & Ishala) and Loyal Assistant X that I would give 5 STARS and still be Five shorter than I wish I could give! Simply Astounding! And only one bite of the chicken had me come back in the building just to take my hat off for the chef. Well Done

This year Im trying to explore different food locations specifically soul food. This was my first time at Soul Box and I was greeted by Ishala Smith. I order the baked chicken on yellow rice, mac-n-cheese, yams, extra side of yams, peach cobbler, and a strawberry lemonade drink. The yellow rice is soft and seasoned just right, the baked chicken also seasoned right and the meat just falls off the bone, the yams (my god) perfectly spiced, sweet but not too sweet to put you in a diabetic comma. Ive tasted plenty of yams from other restaurants like Big Daddys but this is much better. The Mac-n-cheese perfect, perfect choice of cheese and cooked just right. The corn bread moist, dont even need a sip of strawberry lemonade after each bite. Peach cobbler yummy. Mind you I am in the car eating because after the first bite I didnt want to stop and go eat in the house. Parking: Not a busy street and plenty of parking
