I have received a bill that they did not send to insurance. I called three months ago and gave them insurance to send and even followed up and they claimed it was submitted and would take 45 days. We are three months later and I received the same bill and it is now late. They will not send to insurance. I called insurance and gave them the information too and they cant get anything from them. This company has been a nightmare and I would not use them again.

American Anesthesiology / aka Piedmont Anesthesia Associates, LLC: The patient accounts / billing department of Piedmont Anesthesia Associates, LLC operate non-standard ways of working, engage in unreasonable practices, do not concern themselves with practical resolution of outstanding matters, are not patient centric, do not follow through with communication committments and refuse to provide the most basic of detailed billing, business and accounting documentation for patients. Do not use this practice for medical services if given the choice, and if you had to on an emergent basis, immediately contact the medical provider to be an advocate to the unqualified and malfeasant business office. The billing office failed to provide a detailed billing statement upon request and further failed to communicate its determination to an offer to resolve the final balance. Upon follow-up, billing personnel refused to provide any documentation, orally or in writing, to the request for a detailed billing statement, and any counter offer to resolve the final balance. Documentation of a detailed billing statement must be provided when requested. Further, statements of final costs, standard or negotiated, are required for healthcare related expenditures for tax purposes. The multiple failures to perform by Piedmont Anesthesia Associates deprive patients the ability to reasonably resolve balances and to comply with state and federal requirements for qualified healthcare expenditures. Even though I asked the anesthesiologist to please attend to me personally, and I am a physician myself, he refused and I was attended by nurses ( CRNAs as theyre known in the trade). I ended up with extremely low sodium hyponatremia and severe metabolic imbalances.I gained 22 lbs in 10 days!! Let me put it this way: although I have no axe to grind and am not suing anybody, I wouldnt let them put my dog to sleep.

This Anesthesiology group definitely has poor business practice, which I am pursuing further. I had an outpatient procedure at Piedmont with two forms of insurance coverage, which were authorized prior to the procedure. After multiple attempts to rectify the situation, I was informed by an associate of the group that they would NOT file my insurance(s) because they did not want to "settle" for the contracted amount. This is terrible practice and shame on any hospital or facility that knowingly has an affiliation with the malefactors! They deserve less than a one star!
