I went to Emory Downtown because I was going blind in one eye and I was terrified. The staff there were kind and as helpful as they could be to me. They made me relaxed and comfortable at a frightening time in my life and I am forever thankful to them. Dr. Yan was professional and thorough in explaining how they would help me. She put me totally at ease and made something horrifying easy for me. I'm a big chicken but it never hurt even a little to get the shot in my eye. I will be forever grateful to the Emory staff and Dr. Yan for giving me the site back in my eye. I highly recommend going to Emory Midtown they are great people.

The staff were really nice, but I was given an eye prescription that needed to be redone. And although it was a nominal charge, I felt like since they made the mistake I shouldve not been charged at all again.

Took me a few months to get an eye appointment with an ophthalmologist to check the freckle in my eye. Got an appointment scheduled. Filled out all the paperwork online printed out what I needed arrived early for the appointment and was checked in. The medical assistant check to be in checked meds gave her previous doctor's notes and advised her I was there to have the freckle in my eye checked. The next medical assistant took me in to test and photograph my eyes I inserted that she needs to make sure she gets pictures of the freckle in my right eye and she said she would. Finally got to see the doctor she never read any of the notes, didn't know about the freckle in the eye and was extremely rude. I'll be filing a report with the state and hopefully my money will be refunded to my insurance and I'll be able to see a real doctor at another facility. If not I'm going to return to my prior doctor that lives in another state as Emory's ophthalmology department lacks.

The first appointment was in April 2023. The doctor (male) did the eye exam which was rushed. My husband asked him to slow down during the exam. My husband questioned the exam and the prescription but the doctor insisted that it was correct. When my husband took the prescription to get his glasses the tech asked him are you sure this is correct? Well, when the glasses were made and he tried them on he couldn't see at all. I called Emory in May 2023 and asked to see another doctor but was told for a "recheck" we have to see the same doctor. This time I went along with my husband and the doctor got offended because I questioned how this prescription could be so far off from the last one that was done a year ago with Emory that he never bothered to review. If the doctor cared he would have looked at last year's prescription and figured out it wasn't right and saved us another visit and charge that I'm not paying. The doctor had to write another prescription and had the nerve to tell us...have the tech call me because I asked him.. who was going to pay for another pair of glasses this time with the right prescription. He never apologized and we definitely won't go back to the midtown location.

The wait time is too long. Sitting here now waiting. Waited over 10 minutes to check in. Only one person checking patients in and out. Waited in the main waiting room, had to wait again in the secondary waiting room. Now waiting in the exam room dor the doctor. I drive over 50 miles to come to this location. I will be finding someone closer to home.
