Within the last month, I ventured in IPD office to check if they were accepting new patients. I was interrupted by the recieptionist before I could finish the question with a curt negative and a face as devoid of a smile as an anvil. Perhaps the dental staff are different, but the person at the front desk is the one representing the practice to the public. I have heard from two other people who have had a similar experience, but just going on what I got, I wouldn't use their services if they were free and done in-home.

Response to owner: although you do have a diverse staff - which is one reason I chose to attend this location on top of the fact that the place was recommended to me by a minority female. It does not negate my experience with this particular dentist, it does not eliminate the way I was treated, and made to feel uncomfortable. Nor does it console the pain in my tooth or the money Ive lost paying you all for poor service. Nor does it take away from what I literally witnessed with my own eyes, as I watched this dentist change his interaction style with another patient. Your objection doesnt change my reality. - Be careful and/or avoid Rodriguez if you are a minority female! Ive been experiencing sharp pains in my tooth ever since he hurriedly and roughly fixed my tooth. Not sure if he hit a nerve or what but Ive never had pain months later after a procedure. He treated me like he had better things to do. He is a larger male, and while tools were in my mouth, seemed to think it was appropriate to have his stomach up against my cheek. Once the procedure was finished, I walked past the room while he was with a white female patient. He thought enough of her to sit down and complete her work, as opposed to having his body pressed up against her face. A very uncomfortable and strange encounter that I just decided to move forward from as I found an amazing dentist a week later to assist me with my cleaning and check up.

Best dentist in Atlanta! Been seeing Dr Rodriquez for years and have never been overcharged or talked into needless procedures. Very skilled dentist and assistant! Highly recommend this practice! Cool side table in waiting room also!

Mr. Owen,I want to apologize for your disappointing interaction with my staff. We are currently closed to new patients, but we never should have been so rude about it! We are at capacity, and my staff are frustrated with the inadequate options we have to offer new patients like yourself. I am afraid that they are getting exhausted by the issue and may have taken it out on you. That does not excuse your experience, and we likely lost our opportunity to ever make you a customer. But we are actively working on increasing our capacity and should have something significant to announce on that front before the end of the month, as we expect to start taking new patients again this fall. When that time comes, if you are still looking for a dentist in this area, I hope you will consider us again.Dr. A-Rod.

Alicia,I am sorry you felt uncomfortable during your visit. We strive to make all our patients feel at ease, and it sounds as if we missed the mark with you. If the recent filling was still causing you discomfort, I wish you would have let us know and given us the opportunity to help. But in the end, I am glad you found a dentist you like.As to your experience here as a minority female, I strenuously object to your characterization of race having anything to do with how you were treated. Inman Park Dentistry is staffed with an extremely diverse group of people from around the globe. Not only do we have staff members who were born overseas (Sierra Leone, Iran), but our other staff include Americans of African, Asian, and Hispanic descent. In twenty years of doing dentistry in Atlanta, your report is the first time anyone has ever implied that race was a factor in their treatment here.
