I had my identity stolen so I put a freeze on all credit and loans. Newly divorced I need to open accounts for utilities, I can't do that! Apparently Equifax has messed up. To pass their test, they're asking me questions about my ex's adult children. I'm his third marriage Equifax wants to know his middle daughter's age from his second marriage, I failed the test. I even called my ex and he said "I don't remember." We chatted & I figured we were close guessing the right age. You can call back in 24 hours. Then Equifax changed the question. Well what month were they born in? I failed the test again. So now they want a copy of my license frontback (I did that word on purpose that's how the woman spoke thick accent) and of my social security card to be sent to a PO box to prove who I am? I'm not comfortable doing that but I can't open any utilities until I do it. Why, am I being asked questions about my ex-husband's kids from his other marriages shouldn't it be more related to myself or my family? And it's going to a PO box with the words on the front LLL Identification Information. That's a red flag. I understand protection is important but considering that they had themselves hacked.

No wonder Equifax had a data breach! They required my personal information three times to address an inquiry. Then when they were unable to resolve the issue, I had to call back and provide the same information three more times! Issue still not resolved. Transunion and Experian are do much more attentive to data security, and both agencies fixed the problem that Equifax cannot seem to handle. Transunion and Experian are far more capable at resolving issues, negating the necessity of calling in to seek assistance.

I have been trying to have a freeze uplifted off my credit and its showing. I had no credit file or credit score. I have been doing this for a month seems someone has stolen my identity from your reps.
