High Risk Hope, Inc

I had my daughter at 33 weeks at St. Joes. When I was informed I couldnt leave until I delivered I lost it. I never imagined having such severe complications or spending time in the NICU, but there I was. The nurse brought me a High Risk Hope bag that was composed of everything that felt like home. Soap, shampoo, a brush, gum, ear plugs, a tumbler, and even a blanket. She explained a mom who had been in this position had taken up the cause. In the bag there was a calendar that featured other premature babies and their positive outcomes. I remember sobbing and hoping my daughter would be ok like the babies in the calendar. After my daughter was born I used everything in the bag while at the NICU 24/7 for two weeks. I felt seen. I felt understood. I felt heard and a part of something bigger. The kindness of someone I never met gave me the little bit of strength and hope I needed to get through. Now Im holding my healthy 5 month old and Im forever grateful for the kindness this organization brought me during one of the toughest times in my life.

My daughter just had her baby at st.joseph womans , Her sons sugar was low so he went to NICU..this bag..this beautiful paper bag with a bow..filled with books for baby a hat and stuff for mom tissues, toothbrush etc was like HRH saying don't sweat the little stuff mom be with your baby..we got your back...I LOVE YOU GUYS YOU MADE MY BABYGIRL SMILE
