It's best not to use the childcare connected to the Springs. My son was sent home with verbal messages to me telling me that I need to get us a house and a job. They questioned my son to see if he was abused and asked him personal questions of our daily lives. The staff also doesn't take their time out to teach the children during the children's daycare hours, they allow them to play and color or do other activities like puzzles and games. Three hours off the day early child hood education is supposed to happen by state regulations. I was given a written paper of the alphabet for my son to trace and complete when I picked him up from childcare, after expressing that I want my son to practice reading and writing as he was supposed to be doing while in any childcare at four years old. I was being treated like I was stupid by their staff giving me that written piece of paper with the alphabet and I couldn't say what I wanted in regards to the paper or I would've been held as getting smart with staff and kicked out for that at the springs. Mothers already teach their children the basics of reading and writing everyday on their own amongst other subjects, but the staff had treated me like I didn't have the common sense of teaching my own son to read and write by handing me a paper she created. Children are supposed to be learning in childcare not playing all day long. I always do work books with my children and wanted them to be learning while in childcare as well. The Early Learning Coalition will help any parents who are eligible to get free daycare. It is the best option verses using The Springs childcare Telling my son to tell me that I need to get a house and a job is inappropriate and when I questioned the staff about sending my son verbal messages to give to me they acted like they didn't know what I was talking about They're supposed to be helping people not causing more trauma in people's lives.
