Montessori Beach Park School

My daughter started in this school last fall and loves it. The teachers genuinely care about their students and take the time to provide individual attention. We are so happy we found this school.

My son has been attending Beach Park School since he was 3. As a first time parent, finding the right school was extremely important to me. He is my only child and I was looking for a school that would be nurturing, supportive and help him become a citizen of the world. Beach Park is that school. They have created an environment that encourages children to explore and learn on their own with the guidance of Montessori trained teachers. My son is now 10,  in the 4th grade and thriving. Beach Park School has taught him to love learning, to respect diversity and to be kind to the planet. This is so much more then I could have ever asked for.

I have never posted anything before. However, I feel it's very important to say that I am a certified Montessori teacher of 26 years.  I have also completed my infant-toddler training.  I founded, taught and directed a school for 15 years and prior to that helped start several others. I actually relocated to Tampa for one reason only and that reason is Beach Park School. As a trained Teacher, I myself am looking for a school who shares my passion for Montessori, and I can say one hundred percent that this school does. When people used to visit my school, I used to suggest to them that they ask questions about credentials. This school is a full member of The American Montessori Society. This means teachers must have their credentials in order to hold this membership. For my first and probably only yelp review, I must give this a positive because I believe Beach Park School is a very special place. I didn't even mention the kindness of the rest of the staff and the environment is really what makes it so unique. Hopefully you will see for yourself!

Look into the staff carefully if you are thinking about sending your child to this school. The teacher we believed to be Montessori trained departed the school in December. Parents were initially told she was on vacation when she had actually resigned. This information came only after the director was pressed for information. To date there is not a Montessori trained teacher on staff. The director (owner?) claims credentials and occasionally visits classrooms but continues to collect Montessori tuition rates while children are overseen by run-of-the-mill day care workers. If you want your child to have the advantage of the true Montessori experience, look elsewhere.
