Terrible law firm, take your money, and do nothing to defend you once they do. Filed complaint with Florida Bar. Hide behind patriotism and Christianity don't let him fool you.

I have been in Business for over 40 years. Throughout that period, I have, on occasion, dealt with or hired lawyers for different reasons.I have filed a Formal Complaint with the Florida Bar Association due to the high level of incompetence in representing clients and the very questionable “Billing” practices of Tom Colter and Law Patriot.I have NEVER dealt with such a Rip Off Law firm and lawyer like Tom Colter and Law Patriot! They should be called Outlaw Patriot Law Firm! This place is a typical “Bait and Switch” outfit! I hired Tom Colter, to deal with a $10k theft of services issue and ended up having to deal with a lawyer I had never heard of or even met within his firm. This person was clueless regarding my case and I never felt they had my best interest at heart. When this happened I immediately expressed my displeasure and told Tom I didn’t agree or want to deal with a different lawyer. His response was, sorry Peter, I don’t split up the team… he never mentioned a “team “ when we initially met. He led me to believe that he would be the lawyer representing me. I Gave him a $4.5k retainer, (DO NOT EVER SIGN a “Non refundable” agreement!) That was my fault for not reading the fine print! They are ABUSIVE in their billing practices and act like they are the Opposing Council instead of representing the client that hired them! I was billed for them passing my case around through about 4 different lawyers who were supposedly discussing and developing “Strategies”……this is absolute Bull! It was a Simple, ONE Lawyer case! They burned through my retainer so they could bill more! When I challenged Tom, he became very defensive and tried to blame me for being angry! His great saying is “we want to help you and we want to settle your case!! Again BS! He wants to keep Billing the client!

Excellent law firm! You are right I was rude, and I apologize to you and your staff, I was getting devoriced after 32 years and was depressed and upset, and I should have never said any negative about you or firm, I sorry
