I give the ladies that work at Jackson Hewitt on Edgewater Drive 5 stars. They were kind and courteous, I give one star for the Jackson Hewitt Brand. They don't tell you that the fee is $600 upfront. Both times I went in, I provided my info and they never mentioned what I was being charged. They keep you focused on the loan itself, and they know the obvious reason you're there in the first place is because there is an emergency and you need the money at that time. I file with Turbo Tax every year, and have never paid more than $100.
I was ineligible for a loan via paystub and W-2, and the only reason I took my w-2 back there after already being denied is because, someone from Jackson Hewitt called me saying getting a loan with a w-2 will be a much higher approval rate even if you were denied before. My issue is, I feel they know you more than likely will not get approved, the difference is when you take your paystub in and don't get approved they cant really file with that, so you have a choice to go somewhere else, when you take your W-2 for the purposes of the loan, once they process it, rather you get approved or not, your taxes are filed, and you are stuck having to pay them $400-$600 in fees. They did offer me $200 off if I didn't get approved the second time but that's part of their sales tactic, why else would they take the time to call people back that have already been denied, they are still using Metabank for both transactions. I guess it's there way of making it seem like they are helping you out instead of preying on you. I get denied again, and they profit $400 for a basic return. I will be filing a consumer complaint. I will never use them again. I feel stupid, unless you're desperate for money, I would not use these type of services, you're literally giving money away, you can do it yourself. The manager or owner was disrespectful, he cut me off, when I was speaking, and kept being a disrespectful Smart @$$. The people I referred have suddenly changed there mind about using Jackson Hewitt. Shout out to the ladies that work there, they are not who I'm speaking to, you guys are awesome!
Update: 2/21/21 I got a email saying my return was available but nothing was there, and they definitely didn't give me the $200 discount...The F8ck!ng worst
